This is a fantastic knife for the price. I have real Japanese knifes that are in the $1,000 plus range and. The edge on this knife is just that of what you would expect from a knife that is 40x the price. Do I feel it will hold up, prob will with hand washing and taking care with cutting material and surfaces. The overall look is very nice and the balance is perfect. The Damascus is questionable as it looks to be etched, but not really a concern for the price point.
