I’m not sure what the silicone ring is for, I baked a tart for Thanksgiving and used it without the ring as I’m used to with other pans and it turned out perfect! No crust stuck to the pan, it slid out of the outer shell easily and it hasn’t scratched although we’ve not had it very long. Highly recommend!

Did the job

This worked perfectly for a vintage pecan pie recipe I made for Thanksgiving. The silicone shaper didn’t keep the shape of the sides as well as I had hoped and you have to be careful not to push too hard or it will cut through the bottom of the crust. I noticed this after I blind baked it and had to patch with leftover crust and bake again so I didn’t have a leaky pie.Nothing stuck and I was able to easily pop the pie out and plate it.
