Exceptional knives for the home kitchen. They come sharp, stay sharp for a long time, and are easy to re sharpen. The highly polished finish is easy to clean and the Damascus pattern is subtle.The steel is hard, and more brittle than a standard stainless kitchen knife and does require a little more care.Not very magnetic for those of us with magnetic knife storage, but it works well enough.

Great knives

I have a lot of high-end knives but have tried a few of these Paudin knives when I'm worried about damaging a delicate, razor sharp Japanese blade on something (or when my wife wants to use it. She likes to cut the item along with carving the cutting board, lol!). These knives are less expensive but I've really appreciated the quality. They have great fit, feel, and balance. The cutting edge is nice and sharp out of the box and holds up well. Comfortable to hold and easy to clean. Sometimes get left on the drying board after washing to drip-dry, absolutely no issues with staining or corrosion. Very happy with to function and appearance, would not hesitate to order other knives from this company.

I am always wary and optimistic about purchasing items Amazom even though they have good reviews. I understand what a Damascus knife is and wouldn't be able to speak on if this is in fact one. With that being said it works well, well made and holds an edge even on composite cutting boards even though it is sharp.

Very Sharp out of the box, but large and heavy

I found this to be the sharpest knife I have ever tried. I am a home cook looking to improve, so I am aiming to get better tools for my kitchen. I wanted a better all purpose knife for slicing and chopping. It Slices tomatoes very well, and can dice Celery, carrots with no problem. However this knife is quite large and very heavy for every day use in my opinion. After handling this knife it seemed to be better suited for use as a cleaver for cutting through Chicken Bones, or Chopping Pork or Brisket after Smoking. More of a specialty knife, unless you can handle the size and weight, then buy it, and you wont be disapointed.
