Wish I had bought this knife sooner
Effortlessly cuts tomatoes with a serrated sharp blade. Just what I was looking for. Nice quality blade and handle, lightweight but substantial feel in your hand, feels balanced and handles well. Seems well made and durable.Even though I thought I kept my other knives sharpened frequently, I got tired of my other knives smashing the tomato instead of making a clean cut, so I'd have to stop and sharpen the knife. Might not seem like a big deal, but I have a spinal condition that causes me significant pain when standing, so every second I'm standing to prep and cook food, the more pain I endure, plus it's just a waste of precious time. I'm sure many of you can appreciate this.I've used this Paudin tomato knife about a dozen times so far and it makes a clean cut each and every time, and slices and dices well. I read where another reviewer said they were pleased with other Paudin knives. Based on that and my experience with this Paudin tomato knife, I would consider buying different kinds of Paudin. One last thing - it comes packaged in a nice black box, nice enough for gift giving, with black foam insert that houses the knife, comes with the standard plastic protective blade tip cover, and a good looking knife handle. I think it's a good value for the money. You get what you pay for, especially in knives.

Tomato knife, made by Paudin
Beautiful knife very sharp! I think for me, I would do better with 3 1/2” tomato knife. 5” is hard for me to control the cut. Others may really enjoy that length, specially for bigger tomatoes. Like a good juicy beef steak tomato.😊🍅

O.K., but expensive for what you get.
This tomato knife comes in a very attractive box; it would make a nice gift.It is made of stainless steel so it won't rust or corrode. Stainless steel knives do need frequent sharpening, though. It is serrated so it can be used successfully for soft foods, such as (yes) tomatoes and bread. I don't know what they mean when they say, "double serrated". I looked carefully and it just seems a regular serrated knife. For cutting tomatoes you want a thin blade and this is exactly that. A thin blade allows precision cutting and is easy to use when cutting delicate items. The performance of this knife is excellent for soft foods. It is not full tang, though. The blade is not continued into the handle. A full tang knife is a better quality, longer lasting knife. The balance is fine and it is easy to use. The edge angle is perfect for tomatoes. The handle provides a good grip. I am not sure what the handle is made of; it looks like wood, but feels like plastic.Where it falls down for me is quality for price. You can buy a top quality serrated knife, for example the Wusthof serrated knife, for $50 that will cut tomatoes just fine and cut a bunch of other type foods too. This knife will marginally cut tomatoes with more ease, so if you are fussy about cutting tomatoes, this is a decent choice. Because it lacks full tang and has a questionable handle, it isn't first quality...and it is expensive for NOT being excellent quality.

Still razor-sharp after 3 months of regular use - my favorite utility kitchen knife
I've been using this PAUDIN utility knife regularly for 3 months now, and it's still as sharp as the day I got it.Everything about this knife is perfectly balanced:- Sharpness: Incredibly sharp blade that maintains its edge even with frequent use- Weight: Not too heavy, not too light - just the right heft for comfortable handling- Handle: The pakkawood handle is exceptional. It's made from quality wood, doesn't slip even when wet, and feels great in the hand. I have similar knives with metal and plastic handles, and the difference in comfort is night and day- Size and shape: The 5-inch blade length and overall design make it perfect for a wide variety of kitchen tasksThis has become my go-to knife in the kitchen. I reach for it constantly, and it never disappoints. The included sheath is a nice bonus for safe storage.Highly recommend this knife for anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable utility knife that holds its edge remarkably well.
