Great pepper mill - reasonably priced for the quality!
High quality mill for grinding fresh pepper - I had forgotten how much of a difference freshly ground pepper makes, especially the subtle aromatics. The bottom cap is a bit hard to remove, but the gasket keeps the peppercorns fresher (tastier) and the container keeps grounds from ending up on your counter - worth the extra effort to take if off when using (and, it can also be used to grind into the cup and then dispense - convenient if you are grinding a lot for a rub).The top has a quick release button that allows for refilling and the opening is large and makes it easier to not spill when pouring peppercorns from say a larger Kirkland container.The mill itself itself is ratcheting, so you just keep your hand in place and ratchet - a high end feature that is greatly appreciated when grinding a large amount.The settings for grind size are nicely labeled and include a solid click when you select a size - fine is fine enough to cause me to sneeze, and large gives hearty chunks that are cracked to let the flavors out.All in all a great pepper mill that is well made, with smart features, and I expect to last for a long time.

I am torn between giving the 4 or 5 stars. If I had the option I'd give it 4.5.There is one thing I don't like about it. The bottom cover is too difficult to take on and off. It is very heavy, which my wife doesn't like. I too would prefer it to be just a bit lighter but I hesitate to mention it.I do like the important things: The grind is very consistent. You get the grind you set it for and no larger or smaller particles. Also there is a wide selection of grind size. I like a finer grind, which this device can give you. I actually back off from the finest setting.

Best grinder I have ever used.
All the other pepper mills we have tried haven't given us many options for fineness. All of them have been "coarse" at the lowest setting and "cracked" at the top. This is fine for some applications, but sometimes you need finely ground pepper. The fineness of this grinder is incredible. It's definitely worth the higher price than say the oxo, and if I had all the money in the world I would have a dedicated one for every kind of spice that I use ground.

Great pepper mill
I use a lot of pepper. Also make bbq spice blends, which is probably why most people look at something like this. The pepper cannon looks amazing, but I can't spend that much money on a pepper mill. This was on sale for prime days, so I pulled the trigger, and I love it. It is very solid, easy to fill, easy to adjust the grind, and does a very good job at grinding pepper and doing it much quicker than a standard mill. I have zero regrets, I love it. I must be getting old to get this exited about a pepper mill, but it is great.
