This cutting board measures 11.8" x 8.5" so it's best suited for meal prep than say cutting a porterhouse or T-bone steak. That being stated, it's got a beautiful design and sentiment on front (recipe for a special daughter) so if one's into displaying the cutting board in their kitchen, that would be a nice sentiment to display, but to me, the REAL selling point of this cutting board is it's light weight, and for my elderly Mom, who often prepares meals for my sister and her kids, this was the perfect size & weight to make meal prep manageable & easier for her.I'd recommend using the flip side of the cutting board (non printed message side) for cutting and be mindful The product care instructions for this cutting board indicate that it should be hand washed only! Not used in a dishwasher, where excess heat during the drying process may cause warping.I like this cutting board, and my Mom appreciates it's not a heavy item to contend with in the kitchen, for basic "Food Prep" (slicing, dicing, etc..) this cutting board is ideal.

This is intended as a gift but I got it for myself! I was looking for a miniature cutting board and this does the trick. Perfect for smaller meals, fruit, or cheeses, I've been using it for snacks. I primarily use the non-text side for safety reasons, and the board has held up well.

Nice bamboo with beautiful sentiment
This is a nice bamboo board, though I wonder from the wood texture vs other bamboo board I've used. Will it keep up to harsh cutting, Im not sure..For me, this will be the lighter handy quick go to. That replaces my lighter handy go to plastic one. My plastic boards are off to garbage, as I am no longer interested in risking micro plastic contamination.So I'm all for wood, more specifically Ive decided on bamboo.The message on this is beautiful, the sentiment, the decorative font & style.The way its been put on the board, it is not flush, it sits above like it was painted on. Makes it such a nice piece but be wary. I not only recommend, to only cut on the other blank side but also when hand washing ( which is only way to go with wood ) do not use anything harsh whatsoever.If you buy a board for this message, best way to preserve it.I gotta add. The quality of this painted on printed sentiment is so clean.It is smooth for the most part though I have felt a smoother finish.I ran my hand all along its edges & both sides, to have no issue.The board itself is also slightly thin, I expected it to be a bit thicker & yet this makes it lightweight. For those who don't care to deal with the heavier types of wood boards, this is ideal.

A great medium-sized bamboo cutting board with a woodburned design on one side
Amazon invited me to review this as part of the Vine program. I'm going to tell you the truth. We did not select this for its captivating mother/daughter sentiments, nor for its slightly non-standard English grammar, but rather because it looked like a good bamboo cutting board and it is. We are 100% satisfied. My daughter already has it on her kitchen counter.Bamboo cutting boards, especially once they have been seasoned with cooking oil, make wonderful waterproof cutting boards. The bamboo used is hard and nonporous, unlike wood, so it does not easily take up stains, scratches less easily than wood, but is still softer than a carbon steel knife blade.The image on one side is created using heat ("woodburning") so that side of the cutting board is just as clean and smooth as the back side and does not contain any paint or other added substance.This is a good size for practical use, slightly larger than an A4 or letter-sized piece of paper and thicker than most cardboard boxes. It has a large cutout handle which makes it easier to grab--or hang on the wall. Both sides can be used for cutting, and of course the two sides are also quite easy to tell apart!
