Simple and easy
Like many others, I first saw this as an ad in an online game (watch the commercial for something). Looked very interesting. I had a lot of dry good in my 'pantry' in snap tight plastic containers, which are really nice and air tight, but not vacuumable and stuff gets old. Always wanted to do the mason jar route, but going through the canning process was not an option. Decided to give this a try, bought a bunch of mason jars through Amazon and got replacement dry goods (flours, nuts, spices, etc.). What an arduous task. Nope, not really. Once I got the light bulb moment to not try to seal the lid and screw band at the same time, I had sixteen 32 ounce and four 64 ounce wide mouth jars filled and stored in about a half hour. Filling the jars took a lot longer than vacuuming them. After the first one finished, after only a few seconds, I thought, nope didn't work. Confidently put my finger on the seal, pulled up....and kept trying to pull up. Sure enough, vacuum sealed. Really nice. The reason for four stars is that after about 18 jars, the rubber ring in the sealer decided to come out. Falling apart things do not thrill me. I put it back in and the sealer still works, but the ring keeps popping out and is becoming a PitA. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to use it because it does still work, but just disappointed I have to put it together after each use. Oh well. Pantry is almost done anyhow.
