This comes with the circle battery needed. It opens up into a Y-shape and collapses down to a slim, easy-to-store kitchen helper. This fits great in my silverware drawer. The Y-shape was odd to work with at first, but I quickly got the hang of it. The scale is not a perfect measure, but I feel it is great for things I normally eye-ball and also to have on hand to use in grams or milliliters, instead of changing it on my bigger digital scale. It is easy to get out and use. It does not weigh perfectly, in my experience, but I have never had a scale that did. It seems any not-pricey model is going to have a variance. One con would be that things have to be in another container, instead of being able to just sit on it. I don't think that detracts much as I usually have things in a container when using any other scale anyway. This worked better than expected and is a great portable tool to take on trips or camping, as advertised. It is also great for those us that are cramped on space in smaller kitchens.
I like that is is very slim. I can put it in my son’s lunchbox and it is very accurate.
I recently got this portable food scale, and its collapsible design makes it easy to store in my kitchen. It helps with precise portioning during meal prep or baking. When folded up, it's incredibly compact, measuring just about 7 inches in length and slim enough to slip into a drawer. It opens effortlessly into a stable three-legged tripod configuration, with the platform extending out for weighing items without any wobble, thanks to the non-slip rubber feet that grip counters securely. Setup is a breeze: a single button powers it on, taring to zero instantly, and the backlit LCD display is clear even in dim lighting. I love the versatility of switching between units. Grams for recipes, ounces or pounds:ounces for baking staples, and ml or fluid ounces for liquids like oils or milk. This covers everything from spices to smoothies without needing multiple tools. The slim profile and quick-fold mechanism make storage a non-issue; it tucks away neatly beside my spices, freeing up precious counter space. Battery life is solid so far but this is my ony complaint. I wished it was rechargable. Instead it uses one CR2032 which most don't have readily available.
It was what I asked for but unfortunately I ordered during the holidays for a trip and it didn't come in on time. I don't have complaints about that, I should have ordered it earlier lol!
I love the idea of this portable food scale since it folds up into a very compact space. It is great for putting in a backpack and keeping with you if you weigh your food like I do. The scale itself is pretty well-built and sturdy considering it is made of plastic. I have also found the measurements pretty accurate for standard weighing but I would not trust it for precise measurements as it tends to be a few grams off of my other scales that I know are accurate. There are a few other downsides I have found. First, the battery is not rechargeable. The scale uses coin batteries. That's fine but a bit inconvenient. So far the original battery has lasted a few months. Second, I find zeroing out the scale difficult. When I zero it out (tare), the scale picks up the weight of me pressing the button and then doesn't zero out properly. I have to be very, very soft when I am pushing the button which makes pushing the button difficult. It's silly but annoying.Overall, this scale is OK for general measurements but not great for precision. The fact that it folds up is nice since I keep it in a backpack. It works well enough to weigh my lunches so I can get an accurate-enough measurement to log my food.
This scale is great for travel. It folds up to a very compact size. I've uploaded a photo of it compared to a standard 12 ounce soda can.Operation is simple. There are two buttons. One to power on/off, as well as zero the scale, and the other button cycles through the different measurement options. It measures in ounces, grams, fluid ounces, and milliliters.Accuracy is pretty spot on. In one of my photos, you can see where I placed a measuring cup with 1 cup of water, and the scale measured it accurately.I can't comment on battery life as it's still working a few months later. If you travel, and have a need to keep track of portions, this is a great tool to have.
