Very sturdy well made manual coffee grinder

This is a Very sturdy well made manual coffee grinder, especially for the economical price! I did have a tough time taking it apart for the first time to clean it before first use however, only because the bottom nut was very tight. After using a clean towel and a small crescent wrench, I was able to loosen the bottom nut enough to then do the rest by hand.After washing all parts in mild warm soapy water and rinsing and allowing to dry completely, I carefully put it all back together. I say carefully because the bur is very sharp and you want to make sure you remember how all the parts go back together! Tip: as you are taking the parts out, place them on a towel in the order as you are taking them out then take a picture of them in the sequential order as they are to go back in so that you remember how they go back in after they are cleaned and dried as time goes by. I have learned to do things this way as my older brain forgets things :)Also, when putting back together, the spring will hinder you from getting the bur back seated deeply while trying to get the last nut in place and tight. Not enough space for enough fingers to work at the same time. Make sure the grind setting is on Zero or One so the bur goes all the way down inside deep, press and hold as hard as you can while getting that bottom nut on and threaded. I had to use the crescent wrench again to get the nut on tight enough so that the bur would seat where it was needed.With the use of the included brush, I am able to keep it clean and hopefully not have to take it apart too many times as taking it apart is not fun to be honest, but I do absolutely love this coffee grinder with its sturdiness, hand feel, ease of grinding coffee (two sealed bearings that glide like butter) and handsome design. I love it!

Love this little grinder

It’s been the perfect little hand grinder. I bought this to keep on my truck, and for the most part, it’s worked great. It grinds much more quickly and quietly than my JavaPress grinder. The only two things I’ve noticed,and they’re not worth deducting stars, is the smaller capacity (it holds 3 teaspoons of beans), and the retaining ring on the top of the shaft came loose. Simple to clean, very easy to use, and a great value for the price.

Great grinder for the price

Great grinder for the price. Machined very well and has no problem getting a good grind for my med to dark roasts I use in my picopresso when I travel. The only reason I'm docking a star is the dial up top doesn't line up with the lines when clicked in. It's still perfectly functional though.

Excellent manual grinder

I bought this grinder because I was wanted to take a smaller version of my coffee station with me in my RV. I used it this morning to test it out before an upcoming trip and quickly figured out that at a 6 grind level it is a little too fine for a traditional pour over. This is not a bad thing. It means that I could definitely use this grinder for a espresso grind, which is something that I have been lacking in my home coffee station. While this grinder is going to travel with me, it is also going to be part of my home coffee station.As for quality, the body of the grinder is aluminum and feel good and sturdy in my hands. Size wise, depending on the coffee beans, it might not actually grind 25g. I was grinding a slightly larger (India Monsoon Malabar) bean and could only fit 21g which was perfect for me. I would suspect that a smaller more dense bean would be closer to 25g. The hand crank fits nicely and turns smoothly. Grinding was nearly effortless. As a side note, the included carrying bag was a nice addition.

Solid grinder but requires some adjustments

I bought this grinder for espresso, but out of the box, it couldn’t grind fine enough and the coffee turned out pretty terrible.The problem was that the burrs couldn’t get close enough together. To fix it, I removed the lockring and added a rubber washer between the burr and the lockring (I wanted to use a steel washer but didn’t have one handy).The washer took up the extra space, allowing the burrs to tighten closer together and produce a much finer grind. After the adjustment, I’m finally able to pull decent espresso shots.The finer setting does slow down the grind time quite a bit, but it’s a fair tradeoff for being able to actually brew espresso.
