This potato ricer has me quite impressed after trying it the first time making mashed potatoes. I have a child who has always been picky with her mashed potatoes (she's on the spectrum). And I have tried to be consistent with how I make my mashed potatoes, but no matter what.. she won't eat them MOST of the time. If there is even a hint of chunks in them, she won't touch them. I have spent a long time and many techniques to try and be even more consistent. But it's just not been enough. Last night I took this out after boiling the potatoes and told my husband.. this is our last ditch effort. I think this has changed the game for us, for real this time! We put on the 2nd smallest hole cover, the smallest was a bit of a struggle (could be us, we're new lol). But once we swapped to that size, it was easy peasy. Instructions on the box told us everything we needed to know. But honestly, this is fool proof. Changing the different sizes is a no brainer and instant. It also all comes apart for easy cleaning. Anyways, the best part.. any chunks we would normally miss wouldn't go through and would just be smashed so we can easily scrape it off the disk before continuing. These were easily the smoothest mashed potatoes I have ever made. AND it was approved by the child! Hopefully this will be the consistent smooth we have been struggling to find! Easily one of my favorite tools in my kitchen right now. It doesn't feel cheap, it's really all self explanatory. The price is GREAT compared to many of the other similar ones on here.
