Great way to save a lot of clean up
This shield has saved me so much clean-up from mixer vomit. I don't know why I have waited so long go get this. I run a cake pop business and I use my mixer pretty much daily. With out fail the switch will get bumped at some point a cake mix goes flying. This has put a stop to that and I can add my ingredients so much easier. It has truly been a game changer and has speed up my process and clean up. The plastic is hard and has held up well. It is so easy to clean. Just rinse it off. I have not placed it in the dishwasher as I don't really want to take the risk of it maybe warping. So I don't have a good review of that. But I do wash it by hand it is quick and easy. It is a great quality item and well made, easy to attach and go.

You know you need this, right?
This is such an important accessory. It just makes life easier, especially when you accidentally (or on purpose) turn the KA up too high. This is great for catching splatters, and even if you only used this once it is more than with the price for the headaches saved of not having to track down every splatter (on the wall, on the floor, on the counter, on the cabinets . . . ). I mean yeah, it technically is a "pouring shield" but this just makes life easier. The large lip on the front makes adding ingredients easier as well. That in itself is a godsend. if you have a (Tilt-head) KA miser, you absolutely owe it to yourself to have one of these. It will make everything just that much easier —- including clean up! :-)

A little disappointing
I’ve been looking for a pouring shield for my kitchen aid since I got it. I’ve ordered a couple over the years and none of them have fit. At first I thought this was the same. I guess it was a little bit on me for not reading the specifications. So turns out this one does fit…but it fits the smaller bowl which I very rarely use. I don’t forsee myself getting much use out of this but maybe it’ll be nice if I ever do use that size.

Good, not great
My KItchenAid is 20 years old and is always throwing flour out of the bowl. My first time using this lid, I made the mistake of adding all the flour to the dough and then turning on the machine. The flour still went everywhere-even between the lid and the bowl. The next time, I slowly added flour while the running the mixer on the stir speed. It was better, but still not great. The lid sits on top of the lip of the bowl and just floats there and makes a rattling sound when the mixer runs.I have a ceramic bowl which fits this lid, but still has the same rattling issue. That bowl has a spout which this lid doesn't cover. I think I will keep using this and experimenting with when/how to add ingredients, but so far I'm not super impressed.

Perfect fit and a great cheaper alternative to Kitchen Aid mixer. It perfectly slides into places and reduces flour or other dry mixes from clouding out. The chute is of perfect size and the spout is at a perfect angle. It's pretty durable as my cats knocked it onto the floor. No breaks.
