    Handy, useful and something else to store in a crowded kitchen

    Useful to keep the mess down. No need to tilt the head up on your mixer with this to make adding ingredients easy and neat. The downside is that it's fits the 4.5 quart bowl and the lip hangs over the side. The quilted cover (for 4.5 & 5 qt. mixers) doesn't fit well. That means taking the shield off and finding a place to store it or having a bulge that pulls the lower edge of the cover up. Not a deal killer but a little different design where it fits against the base of the mixer would allow it to be stored in the bowl with the bulge hidden under the mixer head - thus 4 stars instead of 5.

    A Must Needed Gadget

    The simplest of gadgets sometimes elude me and I wonder how I got along without them.~The pouring shield comes in two "attached" parts that are already together and then snap close on top of the bowl.~The mixer head should be tilted up to make it easier to attach the shield.~In the past I had always mixed whip cream on low so it would not spread all over. With the shield I am able to turn up to high and mix it faster.~As one can see the collar definitely contains any overspray of food into the bowl while mixing.~Pouring the whip cream into the bowl while whipping kept the food from spraying all over.~I highly recommend this collar to help keep the area clean.

    Doesn’t fit my bowl as it should.

    It lays loosely on top of my bowl. It does not clamp on. It does help with powdered sugar blow outs though.
