So beautiful, functional and clears up space on my countertop
Oh, I LOVE this magnetic wood knife holder. The quality of the wood is beautiful. I ordered acacia, but I think they sent me Walnut. Or maybe it just has a darker stain. I'm keeping it because it's beautiful. You can mount it on your backsplash or wall, but I wanted it on my fridge. I assumed the magnetic part would be on both sides, but no luck. So I ordered some neodymium bar magnets from here on Amazon. Then I removed the screws that held on the mounting plate and added 4 magnetic bars to the back. I think you could probably also use gorilla glue if you didn't want to use screws. I'll attach pictures to what I did. I LOVE it! It looks beautiful, easier for me to see which knife I need, and gets rid of the giant knife block that took up so much space! I also ordered the beautiful octagon spice shakers from Amazon as well. It keeps everything I need to cook with right there within reach. And I love to cook, so this just makes my hobby even more fun. It is so spacious, it held nearly all of my very large knife collection. This thing will NOT budge from the fridge. Zero chance of it sliding or moving because the magnets are SO strong. (If you add magnets like I did, make sure to get the super stron Neodymium magnets). I get so excited when I find something that is not only beautiful but so functional as well! My kitchen isn't that large, so the more counter space I can have, the better.Now let's talk about price. Yes, this is much more expensive than the cheap $30 ones. However, I ordered a cheaper one too, and it didn't have the slot (which allows for 2x the amount of knives) the wood wasn't nearly as beautiful and the quality just wasn't there. So I'm going to mount magnets to the back of the cheaper one and give it to my niece. Win-win!!I am so thrilled with this purchase! If you are on the fence, just go for it, you won't regret it.
