A must for home bread bakers
I've never owned a bow-style bread knife before. What a difference this BD Prime Ventures Bread Knife makes! Before, the serrated straight bread knife tended to mash down the loaf when I cut into it, because I had to push down on it.But because the bow knife acts like a saw, I can use light pressure. Moreover, the thin blade lets me cut thinner slices.Made of hardwood, the knife's handle is comfortable to hold and feels substantial. The blade is stainless steel and rust resistant. Though there are no replacements, the blade is a standard size and can be ordered from several different outlets.I love that this has a cover for the blade, as well as a cloth storage cover, so your fingers don't get sliced when you reach into the drawer. In case you prefer wall hanging, the rope loop on the handle, extra mounting screws, and included screwdriver are also nice additions. At $15, this knife seems fairly priced.

A good knife for free-form bread slicing.
My wife is in her homemade bread baking phase. So I'm the beneficiary of a lots of really wonderful homemade breads. Not being a total idiot, I wanted to encourage this interest of hers, so I've started looking for things she can use in her bread making endeavors. So when I came across this "Wooden Bread Knife with Serrated Stainless Steel Blade," from BD Prime Ventures, it was an obvious order. In short this is a very sharp serrated stainless steel cutting blade that's suspended in a wood harp-frame. Now to be honest, it is bulky and more awkward to use than a standard bred knife is, and unlike most knives, it is not dishwasher compatible, but the blade is super sharp and very thin and cuts a beautifully clean cut even in the softest breads.Other have indicated that it does a better job due to the bow-harp handle, but I believe this is inaccurate, it is because the blade is so thin and the serrations are so sharp that the knife can cut through the breads without requiring the downward pressure that might otherwise compress the bread. Now, one can argue that the blade can only be this thin because it is being braced at both ends by the box, and this is true. The blade itself is not rigid enough on it's own to cut without bending if it was mounted on a standard knife handle. The package ships with a storage bag and a little tool kit for unscrewing and tightening the blade to the handle, but I suspect most people probably won't be doing that very often. I just made it a point to *VERY* carefully wipe down the blade after use, then put the plastic edge protector back on the blade and store the knife in it's protective cover. While it does slice extremely easily, like any free-form knife it does not really do much to assist in helping you create slices of consistent thickness. For that task, use a slicing gauge guide tool. It's not my favorite bread slicing knife, but it is a good one. And overall I think the value proposition is reasonable. At the current price ($14.25 as of this review), the product feels completely worth this price.

Perfect for home baked bread
There is nothing quite like home baked bread and it is important to have a good slicing knife when you make it. This is a perfect knife even when the bread is still slightly warm. The bread slices straight and you can get it thin enough for sandwich bread.I really appreciate that this company has added the extra piece of hardware so that if the knife ever does come apart, it will still be easy to put back together correctly and continue using.I like it the bag that it comes in is really cool to have to store it in and also makes it an excellent gift item because it definitely looks like a more quality bread knife. Which is exactly what it is! It is well worth the money and whether you are buying it for yourself or as a gift for someone else, I think you will be glad you did. I definitely recommend this.

Very sharp!
This is a very sharp bread slicing knife. The handle makes it easy to grip and the serrated edges slice through bread as if it were butter. I love that it has the cover for the edges. It also comes with a cloth bag for storage as well as a repair tool and a cleaning cloth. Perfect gift for the bread maker in your life!

Thin Knife with Blade Guard
My sister recently got into making her own homemade sourdough, and recommended we get a bow knife for nice, even slices. A normal knife will have some additional thickness to it in order to stay rigid, but since this has a wooden tensioner, the blade can actually be made thinner and still remain tight and straight. The bow itself can be used to make even slices, but at a fixed, thick width. The blade guard is really nice to keep it from snagging anything else when you put it away, and the little bag is great if you need to travel with it, as we did for dinner with the family this holiday. I have no problem recommending this if it suits your necessary dimensions.

Sharp, Simple Bread Knife — Great Value for the Style
Nice and sharp, with a solid-feeling handle and a sturdy blade. It’s also one of the cheaper knives of this style I’ve seen, yet it doesn’t feel flimsy. The included storage bag is a nice touch.Nothing really “wrong” with it — though it would’ve been great if it came with a couple of spare blades.Pros:Very sharp serrated edgeComfortable wooden handleGood price compared to similar knivesComes with a storage bagCons:Extra blades would’ve made it a better valueOverall, a solid, budget-friendly bread knife that works exactly as expected.

Love this knife
Such a cute knife. Good strong wood that is nicely finished. No rough edges or slivers. Good size handle that makes it easy to keep a hold of. Really sharp knife blade that can be replaced. Can't wait to use it lots when I make bread. Makes slicing home made loads simple and clean. Barely need to push down its so sharp.
