I have been making spatzel for 20 years. My original Spatzel maker had a plastic handle & “grater cup”. It broke after 20 years of use. This fit my pot perfectly, it appears to be well made, and was very easy to use. I didn’t have a mess all over my pot or burner, and clean up was easy as well. The spatula is a miss. I used my dough cutter as well as a spatula to spread the dough around to drop in the pot of water. I thought I was going to be disappointed but turns out, I would definitely recommend this!

Easy tool to make spaetzel
I have used other spaetzel making tools before but this one works fantastic! It made it much easier & less messy. I used a long handled rubber scraper instead of the included one but was happy with this purchase.

sharp edges
mine has sharp edges, both on steel spaezle maker and spatula, if edges were polished it would be perfect… but sits well on the pot and works well for the purpose, and it’s fairly priced. I still recommend.

A Knöpfle maker—rather than a Spätzle maker (think Swiss-style Spätzle)—this is a great little tool.
No more using the back of the grater for me! This tool is great for making knöpfle, the Swiss version of Spätzle that’s also quite popular in the Allgäu region of Germany (as I heard). The large area allows you to put the entire batter for 3-4 servings without spilling over. Two words of advice: the recipe it came with is off. Also, rub the back end with a thin coat of vegetable oil so that the knöpfle fall off easily.
