This is a beautiful veggie peeler set! The wooden handles add a touch of elegance that I love! But most importantly, they're sharp and peel well. I got this for my own use, but it would make a nice gift for a housewarming or something.
I love this vegetable peeler set. It comes with two types of peelers, and both are sturdy and well-made. The wood handles are comfortable and ergonomic. They both have a leather loop straps so they can be hung if desired. The stainless steel blades won’t rust and are dishwasher safe.
This two piece vegetable peeler set has handles that are large enough to be comfortable in my big hands, while at the same time not so large that my wife's dainty little hands have any trouble handling them. The finish on the wood is smooth but the texture of the handle's wood grain provides enough grip to not allow slipping or other mishaps. Both peelers are very sharp, and they cut right into the peels of potatoes, carrots, and beets with ease. Each peeler has a nice leather hanging loop, though I cut them off of the set I received because I didn't care for the feel of it brushing against the edge of my hand. It's sturdy and nice to have the loop if you hang your kitchen tools, however I prefer the peelers without it so it doesn't snag on other utensils in my kitchen drawer. Good to have and not troublesome to remove if that's your preference!Overall quality on this set was exceptional, and at the price-point of well under $30 at my time of delivery, fancy brands like Pampered Chef pale in comparison to a product as well made as this set! If you are looking for a low priced gift for the kitchen wizard in your life you've found it.
To be honest, these are so standard that unless they can peel all on their own, it's going to be a standard review.The metal is sturdy, easy to clean, and plenty sharp.The handles are light, and feel like they could snap easily. Yet they hold strong.Peeling is a skill, but when you know what you're doing, they glide fast and smooth for quick and easy fruit shave.The size is good, not big and bulky, but big enough it doesn't take 10 years to peel something.The price is cheap, they're better than the lame plastic ones, amd more comfortable than the all metal ones.
This set of two premium peelers were just that - premium! The first one was an " I " shaped peeler, like most of us have in our homes. It is seven inches long and a combination of stainless steel blade and a great wood handle. They thoughtfully put a hole in the handle with a loop for hanging. Why didn't somebody think of this before?The second is the " Y " peeler. It, too, is well crafted out of wood and stainless steel and can be hung up. It is 6.5 inches long.Both peelers feel so comfortable in my hands, making it easier to peel things. My boys have always preferred the "Y" peeler, while I prefer the more traditional "I" one. So we just tested both on potatoes, carrots and celery. They are so sharp and all of us were able to peel all three vegetables in record time.They have replaced my decades old peelers. These new ones work and have the quality I have sought for years. They may be a little thing to many, but for me, when things work well it makes lives just a touch easier.
5 Stars - Exceeded Expectations 4 Stars - Met Expectations 3 Stars - Fell a little short of ExpectationWhat we like:These peelers are certainly sharp.The feel "heavy weight" or durable.The handle is easy to hold.The leather cord attached makes them easy to hang.What was "ok"The "I" shaped peeler works well when peeling away from you, but my wife did not find that it worked better than the one she already had in the drawer.What we did not like:The Pictures show someone peeling toward themselves with the "Y" shaped peeler. The one we received is not set at the right angle to peel towards you. The angle of the one we received works better peeling away from you, which is what we do with the "I" shaped peeler. This is also different from the other "y" peeler that we had been using that my wife liked. In the pictures I attempted to show the difference of angle limits as the peeling blade rotates because the angle of this rotation affects the way it cuts.Good sharp blades, seem to be made of quality materials, but they fell short of what we expected for a new "premium" set.
There was a time in my life where all I ate was processed food. And it led to a myriad of health problems. Nowadays I have done a complete 360 as far as preparing healthy and sustainable meals. I was looking to replace my old and dull food peeler. When I saw this two piece peeler set by TONKIKA on my search, I knew I had to order them. The day before I brought some potatoes & carrots for a beef stew. Immediately I put them to the test. WOW, these peelers are so sharp and easy to use. I used both of them. They made my vegetable peeling a breeze. Honestly they worked so well that it left me with an urge to peel more stuff. They are quality personified. I love the ergonomic wood handles, it feels so good in your hands. These amazing food peelers are a prime example for something that gives you the most bang for your buck. I love them & wish that I would've brought them sooner.
