Very sturdy bowls and easy to clean!
I bought these just over 2 years ago. I am only now needing to restock. That's a good product lifespan. They have been much more durable than I expected for being so thin.Just the right size. Small and stackable in the freezer. Can see the contents in the clear lids. I use these primarily for leftovers, but they would be good for lunches or soups. They're too small for salads for me.The lids are tight - which while it is sometimes annoying to try and remove, I've never had a leak.... So it's a fair trade off.
I had the bright idea I was going to make meals in my electric pressure cooker and freeze them to take to work. Well....that's exactly what I'm doing but I didn't really need this many, but it was a good deal. For me, the portion size is just right. I can throw in some pasta, pot roast, stew, or whatever and they're the right size for a lunch. I like the fact they're rectangular so they take up a lot less space in the freezer than the thin round ones my friend bought. They also stack nicely and have some little grooves in the lid to keep them from sliding off each other.I don't know about "leak proof" yet. I throw them in the fridge the night before and then my cooler the next morning. By lunchtime, my meal has mostly defrosted. So far no leaks. The lids fit surprisingly tight and are a little difficult to remove. I like that it has the one tab to grab on the corner. That makes it a lot easier to pop it loose.I made several batches of food and ended up filling about a 20 in my freezer. With this 40 pack and the fact I can wash and reuse them several times (haven't thrown one away yet), I expect to have these for years and years.
These are good containers overall. They are lighter duty plastic than typical reusable containers, which surprised me, but they're still functional. The lids snap securely into place (in fact, they are maybe a little too difficult to completely remove), yet they do not seem to create an airtight water-tight leak-proof seal. I am using them for dry goods in the pantry, and I worry that things could be susceptible to oxidation and potentially pests. There is something of a seal, but if I press on the lid, it pushes some air out. On releasing, air died not immediately re-enter, so thus test gives mixed results. Heavier duty containers typically have a better seal. Also—no fault of these containers, but the very large surface area of the lid opening compared to the volume has pros and cons. On the plus side, the sides of the containers take up little space and many containers can be stacked and visible. This is great for my case of limited pantry space. On the downside, they are not great for pouring controlled amounts of their contents out, unless you usually want half a container or a container-ful at a time. For smaller quantities, the only practically solution for me is to use measuring spoons. I have never used measuring spoons for the contents of my pantry before, as with smaller lid openings it was simply possible to pour more controlled amounts.Still, these are good enough for my present needs, and I like being able to stack many containers per shelf. These also cost a fraction of the cost of containers especially designed for pantries. These are probably good for sending leftovers off with houseguests too, as they are likely good enough for the task and they are inexpensive. The size is perfect for my needs. 17 oz. is a hair more than a pint (2 cups; 1/2 a quart). I take them with me to the store and fill them in the bulk aisle (great at health food stores, but many grocery stores—at least around here—don't train their employees on entering tare weights properly at the register). The weight of each container with its lid is 0.80 oz. (to within 0.05 oz.), or 0.05 lbs.
The perfect size for meals or leftovers. You can warm them in the microwave. I use them to pass along meals to the elderly in our church.
I bought one package originally, and a second set three months later. The containers are nice and simple. They stack perfectly in my cabinet and I never have to worry about if I have lids that will fit. They ARE microwave safe and dishwasher safe. I was skeptical at first, but they have held up without shrinkage or warping. The best part? (For me) Is that I'm able to throw the container away if it breaks or if food molds in it without feeling too guilty. I personally feel more comfortable tossing out a container that has had moldy food rather than the anxiety of how/if it cleaned off. This is an absolute MUST for meal prepping, they stack so well and neatly in the fridge. The clear lids make it easy to see whats inside. I also use dry erase marker to write the date on the lid that washes right off with no stains.Con:- Double check your lids when closing them! Sometimes the lids can be difficult and if not properly secured they may leak.
I bought this Plastic Containers with Lids Set 45 Pack by Prep Naturals for meal prep and food storage. I liked the idea because it has mixed sizes and looks useful for freezer and deli style storage. But honestly I am not happy with the quality. The plastic feels thin and not strong. Some containers bend easily and it does not feel long lasting. The lids also do not fit tight on all pieces. A few lids feel loose and I do not trust it for liquids. If you keep soup or curry, it can leak if you are not very careful. For freezer also, the plastic feels like it can crack if handled rough.I expected better because this is for food storage and meal prep. Even if you get many pieces, if the quality is not good then it becomes waste. I ended up using it only for dry snacks or small items, not for proper meal prep.Maybe for very light use it is okay, but if you want strong containers for daily use, I do not recommend. I will not buy again.
