Very pleased; holds folds SO well & no sticking!!

Worked great and no strange smell!! I’m pretty sensitive to odors as I unfortunately have a sensitive olfactory system and before I even took it out of the plastic I sniffed it Yo determine if it would be going back. Happily, no odor on mine.I floured it really well, took it outside and gave it a shake, put the baguettes in for final proof and no sticking!! The couche is stiff enough to keep its shape when you create the folds for the dough but soft enough to easily create the folds. I would give this item as a gift to fellow bakers, but I’d repackage it as the packaging isn’t attractive. I bought this myself and no one is offering anything in return for this positive review.

Holds its shape, keeps the baguettes in line

This cloth couche pretty much has just one application, which is to hold individual baguettes in place during proofing. I've only used it once but it worked very well--the cloth is soft enough to fold nicely between the loaves but stiff enough to hold them in place while they proof and enlarge. Nice product, priced right.

    It works

I used this for baguette loaves by first folding it in half lengthwise then folding that narrower rectangle like an accordion. This made v shaped channels for the loaves. They nestled in fine, rose well, released easily. I am satisfied with this product.

Big. Very BIG. I ended up cutting it up

I wanted something big enough for a couple of decent sized (for home oven) ciabatta loaves. And this is definitely big enough. It's so big I was at first folding it up in quarters and so on. In the end I just cut it up because it is fairly stiff and kind of pain to use folded. Your mileage may vary, but too big for my needs.

    Great Product!

So far I'm extremely satisfied with the craftsmanship and the performance. I loved the introduction card and care instructions I think that demonstrates the way I like to do business, so when I recognize that quality in others it inspires me. I will do business with them again.

    Useless and Annoying

Much too stiff to form for supporting rising dough. I've spent 2 - 3 hours trying to soften it enough to be useful. Living on social security, I'll keeping trying. Next step is to wash out as much flour as possible with a garden hose, then soak it in a fairly strong vinegar bath. Hang to drip and mostly dry, then iron it dry. By that time my work will be worth about a dollar per hour.Update! I opted to try everything else before the vinegar. Spent another couple hours first rolling it up and repeatedly whacking it against my wooden porch railing (helped some) and finally, folding and creasing it every half inch or so first the long way, then the short way. Then ironed it to smooth out the wrinkles. It's finally usable though still a little too stiff.
