Well made slicer. This is very easy to setup and use right out of the box. It has all the different blade cutting thickness/type that I need to cutdown on my meal prep time. Like the nonslip legs and also the hand guard for shorter ingredients, has winged sides to protect your fingers. Blades are very sharp and easy to remove for cleanup. Bonus you receive 2 gloves and a cleaning brush. Overall good value for the price.
I was excited to try this mandoline slicer! We eat a lot of veggies, and also need to slice them for our guinea pig. I have tried a lot of vegetable choppers that are plastic and have the handle you pull down, but they are so hard to wash that I went back to using knives. Now that I have this, I can quickly and easily chop our food!I was really happy that this came with the cut resistant gloves. They are a little small for my large hands, but will work when I need them. The handle was very useful and held onto the cucumber and tomatoes I chopped. I was able to chop every bit of the vegetables without having the tiny tips left over. The amazing thing to me was that none of the food stuck to the chopper. Everything fell onto the cutting board! Other slicers seem to get food caught in them.The blade is very sharp. It comes with a plastic guard to put over the blade when its not in use. I was careful to avoid the blade while using and cleaning this. I found that 6 mm was the best thickness for cucumbers. I tried the various sizes. Its easy to adjust the thickness even while using it. You just lift up the upper plate and turn the dial, then lower the plate and resume cutting veggies.This is a great value for the money. It comes with everything you need, including a cleaning brush. I tried washing it with a scrub daddy, but it actually cut part of the sponge. Next time I will use the cleaning brush and a dish rag. It was very easy to clean by hand, and I have it drying on the dish rack now. I am looking forward to using this over the holidays, because we will need to slice a lot of different foods. I am excited to see if it works for meats and cheeses!After using this, I realized just how fast I was able to prepare the food. It is easy to clean, and doesn't take up much room when put away. I can even fit the original box in a kitchen cabinet, so I know all the pieces are together. This is a great kitchen device, and I recommend it!
When I saw this Professional Mandoline Slicer from Stellagro , the first thing I thought about was the deli I get my cold cuts from. To see how they cut those meats into slices was always cool to see 🙂With a slicer like this, I was hoping to find deli meats I could buy uncut. That way I should have been able to save $. Unfortunately, this slicer falls short in both performance and quality.First, it’s smaller than I expected. And secondly, it feels unstable- especially when I used it with fast cutting motions. To get anything resembling a decent cut, you have to push the food toward the blade at an uncomfortably fast pace, which doesn’t feel safe or efficient. Keeping in mind that this is a serious cutting blade. 🥴Because of its size, it would take a while to prepare food for a crowd. One or two?…it’s fine. It offers various cutting options: from paper-thin to thick cuts. More suited for potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, onions, zucchini & more. Despite my desire to use this for cheese, which was the first thing I wanted to use it for, it’s not designed for cheese. That’s primarily because cheese is soft and will get stuck on the blade or crumble. Now, if you have a hard cheese - it will work.It does have a few nice safety measures in place: Safety food holder, cut resistant gloves, anti- slip rubber ends, and an ergonomic non-slip handle.Overall, this shredder looks and feels cheaply made despite trying to present itself as a “professional” model. But for me, it’s unstable, underpowered, and takes too much force to produce nice cuts. Plus, that blade scares me. Sooo, I’m not trying to test it past what I’m comfy wit. 🥴 It’s a 👎 for me. Back to the drawing board it goes.
Learning how to use this mandoline slicer does not take long. The set up is easy, adjustments are as simple as turning a knob, and in no time you can have just about perfectly uniform slices or shreds. If you are looking for precisely sliced or julienned vegetable this works really well.It's sturdy, made primarily with metal, stainless steel I think, rather than plastic which is just trim. The safety food holder that comes with the mandoline is a firm plastic. Using the safety is a little bit awkward and does take some getting used to, but considering how sharp the blade is the small additional effort is worth it. My husband was going to give me an extra pair of cut resistant gloves from his shop, but they are also included with this mandoline.
The blade on this mandoline slicer is pretty sharp and does a fantastic job slicing. Sometimes what keeps me from eating veggies sometimes is the thought of chopping up all the vegetables. My life been a whole lot easier thanks to this slicer though and I've been including more veggies lately. I'm glad it's not difficult to use, all I have to do is adjust the knob and start slicing. A pair of gloves and a brush are also included.
