The Only Apron I'll Wear for Grilling
I've been grilling and cooking for decades, and most aprons feel like they’re made out of tissue paper. That's why I bought this professional chef apron—I needed something tough that would actually protect my clothes when I'm dealing with serious heat and grease. I’m giving this thing five stars because it’s exactly the heavy-duty canvas work garment I was looking for. What I like most is the material. This 100% cotton canvas is thick and rugged. When I spill barbecue sauce or a little grease spatters up from the grill, it doesn't soak through immediately. It feels substantial, like something built for a job, not just a decoration. The durability makes the price worthwhile. It’s got deep pockets, which are great for holding my phone, meat thermometer, or a towel. The straps are wide and comfortable, too, which is a big deal when I’m standing over the smoker for hours. The only thing I don't love is that because it's so thick and new, it’s a bit stiff right out of the package. It takes a couple of good washes for it to really break in and mold to your body. Also, being canvas, it does hold onto heat a bit more than those flimsy cotton/poly blends, but I’d rather have the protection. This apron isn't fancy, but it is functional and tough, and that's all I need when I'm working the smoker or the stovetop. It will likely last longer than I will.

Serious Protection for Messy Work
This is a heavy-duty apron. I feel like this is a deep frying a turkey or roasting a whole pig type of apron. Sure, you could wear it to make pasta sauce, but dang, it would be overkill. It's made of a heavy canvas material—the kind of material they make barn jackets or workman jackets from. It will stand up to a lot of abuse. It has some divided pockets and hooks where you could hold a hammer. The pockets are held on by rivets, so they will withstand a lot of weight. I can see this being used while you clean a deer from a hunt, woodworking, yardwork, etc. It would have lots of uses besides cooking. It will accommodate tall and larger-sized people easily. It came to my knees, and I had more than enough straps to tie this around my waist. I'm 5'8" and 155 lbs., which isn't small, but there was plenty of room for a much larger person. The straps to tie it on are unique, and I've never seen them on an apron. The straps hook into the front, then crisscross by your shoulder blades, then thread back through the waist area of the apron, where you then connect the two sides together with a click. It sounds more complicated than it is. I equate it to getting a new pair of tennis shoes. You have to adjust and get the laces all set for your foot, then you don't mess with it again. This is very much like that. You spend a couple of minutes dialing it in to what fits you, and then you don't have to mess with it again. This system does allow a very personal fit, which is better than most aprons.I recommend this for those who need something to withstand a lot of messes without ripping or breaking down easily. It does weigh more than a typical apron, but then I think of it as "more than a typical apron". It's protection from all manner of grime and grease.

Heavy duty apron for any application I need.
I can't tell how many times I've gotten grease, oil, tomato juice, or other splatters on my clothes while cooking or working on mechanical things, causing me to stop what I'm doing to change clothes and put some pre-treatment on to prevent stains from forming. Depending on when this happened, it sometimes meant that what I was working on didn't turn out as well because it needed constant supervision (eggs, sauces, browning meat, sautéing, etc.).I decided a long time ago that the 1950's TV sitcom picture of a housewife wearing an apron is outdated. I need one too. It makes sense that anyone who's working where there are likely to be squirts or splatters needs one. This apron isn't just a heavy canvas protector though. It includes multiple pockets and straps that I'm already figuring out what to put in. I'm thinking that one of the straps is going to hold a clipped-on hand towel for when I need to get that juice off my fingers and don't have time to run to the sink and wash them. The other might get another for wiping off utensils, or might get something else.I got this one for the kitchen, but I'm also thinking about the garage. I regularly wear a toolbelt when doing work around the house, but when working in my garage, one of these aprons could hold wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, small clamps, pencils and markers, maybe lightweight hammers, etc. (I'm probably not going to try putting knives or chisels in it).The fit is highly adjustable. The strap clips on the rings at the top and has a cris-cross leather disk that goes between your shoulder blades before it goes through loops on the sides and clips together with an adjustable plastic clip. You don't need to tie it behind your back.Basically, the only thing this apron doesn't do for me is remind me to put it on. I still need to do that myself.

Nice and thick grill apron with lots of pockets
I bought this for my husband—the grill-master… or should I say smoke-master—of our house, and he absolutely loves it. It has a pocket for everything: his phone, a rag, tongs, even a beer. The thick cotton canvas feels high-quality and durable, and the craftsmanship is excellent.Once you adjust it the first time, it clips on easily with no strings to tie, and it stays perfectly in place. I especially like that it doesn’t hang around the neck; instead, the straps go over the shoulders, criss-cross in the back, and fasten at the waist for a comfortable fit. It’s a very nice addition to our grilling setup and has quickly become one of his favorite accessories.

Overly complicated straps, but nice heavy apron.
This is definitely a nice, heavy apron. Love all the pockets and places to hang tongs, etc. My only complaint is the overly complicated straps. I can't even figure out how to put the stupid thing on. I will probably remove all the straps and add my own so I can put it on without 6 people helping me do it.
