Best choice -truly waterPROOF, super comfortable, well-made
Not hot , does not weigh a ton especially around neck ( actually surprisingly lightweight but is sturdy and not stiff at all), strap around neck is not long (11 inches to midpoint) so protects better than others above top of apron's body- pattern is ok & not obtrusive like many others- bought for adult male to wear (he hates most patterns but finds this one acceptable)during meals while seated so length of straps to tie in back not an issue(see below for exact length) ( if y r helping a person who is a "squirmer" ( moves a lot)u could simply tie a ribbon onto end of each strap to make longer if too short)-has long enough body to protect lap and floor from spills( other aprons can be too short)- i researched many other brands and did not want water repellant or resistant but water/moisture " PROOF" and OIL - Resistant! + a review by a professional who uses it says " oil wipes right off"(also mentioned using a professional degreaser at end of day after working w commercial grease for many hours - not something i need to do though)( i said goodbye to irish sweater recently due to another brand's apron's failure -waterproof is sometimes an invalid claim- also, use yr brain- certain fabrics r not waterproof- if u don't know about a fabric, do some research)- READ All THE REVIEWS, PEOPLE- I was about to order from another brand until in the reviews I read about or saw images that contradicted the waterproof claim-straps at waist r 15 inches long each attached where apron body is 27 inches wide (u do the math if will tie in back on u or see my comment on ribbon herein - when seated to eat and used as a bib is not an issue for us- we don't even bother tying), straps r a nice but different material and r attached in a way("double seamed") i suspect will prevent their being easily detached, a complaint that is mentioned in reviews of many other brands by the way(i tugged on hard and felt no *give" so assume might survive washing in a machine ( 1 reviewer did)but not sure will retain ability to prevent liquid transfer for long if u do(?)( do NOT use dryer,will melt!)but i wipe down instead or hand wash- one side is waterproof, other side is soft against body and dries quickly) - i bought another brand for me w dogs on it just to compare( different material- kind of like a kid's craft apron but longer)but i suspected was not something he would wear because of the pattern- i was right! This was the best choice- 5 stars! Oh and this also has nice pockets, double seamed, which we don't use, but u might
