These Damascus VG-10 knives have beautifully crafted blades and offer excellent quality for the price. Though the wood/metal handles could be nicer, they are incredibly sharp and have great edge retention. So far, I’ve purchased the Santoku, Nakiri, and bread knife. I’ll definitely be adding a Chinese-style meat/vegetable cleaver to my collection if the brand offers one. The 4 inch height (double that of a Nakiri) is perfect for scooping and transferring food from the board straight to the wok!

Very sharp, sturdy and comfortable

This review is on the santoku, not the boning knife. Arrived in good condition, although definitely not gift quality packaging as advertised. Seller states the color is purple. I see no purple and have no idea what they are referring to- which is a good thing. I have several "santoku" knives- Shun, henckel, etc. This knife is 217 grams total weight. Sturdy blade. The "Damascus" finish is excellent so far at release of thinly cut vegetables and meats. At 217 grams and its' thick blade, it could be used as a chefs knife I suppose. We have only juat begun to put the knife through the laps, but I have already noticed us grabbing it before the Shun. Time will time.
