I am a fly fisherman and I primarily fish for trout. So the mittens and the potholders with trout on them were exactly what I wanted. The hot part of the mitten has a silicone exterior that functions very well. I liked them so much for my kitchen at home I bought another set for my cabin in the Appalachian mountains, where I fish.
Love the pads and love the mitts with the heat resistant palms.One note is that i have average size hands with the mitts almost snug. So truly big/thick hands might not fit easily.Lastly, i feel the hanging loops on the mitts should have gone on the other side so hands reaching them can just slide in without requiring flipping them over. Yes I realize that merely requires an extra 2 seconds of time so I'm sure we can all live with that. It's possible that there is an essential manufacturing reason why the loops go where they do which would preclude moving them
