This bread box is made from durable stainless steel and is large capacity. This box is multifunctional as a bread box and can hold multiple loaves of bread also snacks, fruits or pantry staples. It also holds my pastries, bagels and other baked goods keeping them fresh with a locking lid that has a thick silicone seal. The lid has an adjustable air control valve and easy set time recording dial so you know exactly how long items been in the box!The stainless steel bread box keeps things looking clean and tidy on the countertop by organizing all my baked goods. This stylish 2-piece bread box works very well at helping keep bread products fresh. The bottom portion of the enclosure is made of very light weight stainless steel with the top closure being made of clear and colored plastic parts. The top enclosure is a little tricky to get positioned just right for the plastic clamps to close properly but after a couple of tries, no real issue. Please note that you are not limited to store just bread products in the "bread box" but it can accommodate just about any food product you want to keep in airtight storage. Important factors for me were that it has a handle for easy carrying, very large capacity (will hold an entire loaf of bread), is leak-proof, oven safe bottom and is dishwasher safe. Of lesser importance for me is that the unit also incorporates a date dial so that you can keep track of time passed for the item or items being stored. The "Box" has become part of our kitchen. Approximate Measurements (inside): 5" high, 6.5" deep and 12.25" wide. It does what it is supposed to do and is easily maintained. Highly recommend.

Stainless steel breadbox. Who knew?
If you are a fan of stainless steel containers, you'll love this bread box. When's the last time you ever actually bought a bread box? I have been looking for more of a retro/vintage style breadbox, but the problem with those, is they are not airtight, and do not actually keep your bread soft and fresh. This bread box will. It has a silicone seal around the rim of the the lid that will lock out the air. I'm not too sure about the little air dial, i've never set it, and it seems extraneous. Just seal out the air, please. And, there is a little date reminder with 1-31, so I guess you can set it to the date of the month you put in your bread.....but who keeps bread around long enough that you lose track of when you put in it the container? So, it seems unnecessary to me. The size is nice and big, and easily fits my homemade sourdough and regular bread or rolls. I don't think it keeps my items any fresher than any of my plastic containers, but I do love that its stainless steel. The handles are nice, if you're taking bread to share with friends/family, when not using them, they lay flat. For the money, though, it's a bit expensive for what it is. However, it does look pretty good on the counter, so there is that!

Well made, multi use breadbox
Large, well made bread box. The stainless is thick, not flimsy, which is great. The cover locks tightly, too. The gasket appears to be silicone, so you can get a tight seal, and the locks are easy to open and close. The cover has a handy feature whereby you can "dial in" the month and day. It washes well in the dishwasher. This is a big box. It can be used in so many ways besides as a breadbox. Great container to transport pretty much anything. Is it a "pretty" breadbox? Well, that depends. If you value the appearance over functionality, this may not be for you. It is utilitarian and for me, it is awesome.
