Nice size skillet for many uses
Bought for my wife she loved it
Would recommend
This BIG skillet is beyond great. Yes, you need to find a good storage spot for a big wide pan, and yes it is heavy. But the two side handles actually make it easier to use than a 12" heavy skillet with the typical single pan handle, and not having a long handle also makes it a little easier to fit in storage. The extra surface space is wonderful for being able to cook without crowding the pan, and to be able to more easily work with the contents with your spatulas and spoons. It also makes a great way to cook foods that need the space, for example a paella. Since this skillet can tolerate 500 degree temperatures in the oven, it is a great alternative to a pizza steel or stone. I like the earthy "agave" tone in the blue enamel coating as a nice alternative to the usual bright shiny enamel finishes.I have to make a special mention of the packaging. Incredible! The factory surrounds the pan in styrofoam, and that is encased in not one but two heavy boxes. As you open the packaging, the cardboard flaps have printed useful information about the pan, so as you open your purchase you are learning about it. This is an incredibly intelligent design, both for safe shipping, and for providing the customer an easy way to get to know their new skillet. If treated right, good cast iron cookware will last a lifetime and become an heirloom to pass to the next generation, and that makes its actual value a no brainer. This Rachel Ray item is a great piece to add to your kitchen. It gets my HIGHEST recommendation. Thanks Rachel Ray!
It's a piece of junk. It sticks in the middle and has from the first time I tried to use it. I have used cast Iron all of my adult life and NEVER have had a problem like this. Then when I tried to get some help/info from the RR people...they've made it impossible to try to communicate with them. I was an hour just trying to move through their web. I am so very disappointed. I'm stuck with a fry pan that sticks even when you have an appropriate amount of seasoning, oil. Plus I tried to reseason and no luck. It seems to be rough in the middle and no amount of season will allow for frying. I would give the thing less than 1 star if I could.
The pan cooks well, cleans easily but is very heavy.
This is a really good buy, feels and cooks like a Le Crueset fry pan but is much more affordable. I think I'll be buying a few more as Xmas gifts.
