Works as I expected, catches lots of food bits. Empty it a few times a day, and it will extend the life of your oil. Unsure why the bad reviews. Yes, it's pricey for what it is, but if it saves you a few oil changes a year, it has already paid itself off in time and money. I started with 1 just to try it, and buying another one for our other deep fryer.
This filter is basically useless. After being heated, the mesh of the filter will warp and deform.
