Don’t drop the one you have one as it breaks into lots of pieces! Even messier if it’s full of mixture!But if you do then order one of these and you’ll be back in business Quickly!New top fits better than old one which was harder and didn’t fit as well as it should.This top is more playable and fits well.You also get a new bottom with blades, bearing and seal.This bearing and seal design is superior to brands that use a sleeve bearing that wears over timeand leaks in areas below the jar where it turns into a black smeary mess. These inferior sleeve bearing design are much cheaper to manufacture and are found not only on cheaper brands but also on more expensive brands costing hundreds of dollars. It is hard to tell what design other brands are using unless you know what you’re looking at and it’s not going to tell you on the packaging. Warring also has a very strong connection to the drive motor which is powerful enough to crush ice and won’t overheat and destroy the motor! Great product, might cost more but it will last along time, especially if you don’t drop the glass jar on a tile floor like I did.That is not a good idea!

The glass jar is very much like the jar that accompanied my mother's Galaxie Osterizer service # 848-3H, possibly from fifty years ago. Cool! This new jar has level markings in liters, as well as in cups.The blade assembly looks good; I haven't tried it yet.The top cover fits the glass jar OK. My mother's was white, not black. The center cap is not a great fit; that is, even applying silicone grease to the ramps, it takes much effort to turn the cap to lock it into the lid. I kept the old lid and cap.The base does not look as heavy duty as the bases of long ago, so I kept the old base. Influencing this decision also was my reading elsewhere about newer bases whch had broken.Two rubber gaskets accompany this; their diameter is a little small, but they still seal to the jar.These gaskets are slightly larger, for a better fit:Replacement Gasket Compatible with Oster Blender 2 Pack Gray After Market Part (2 .6" Inch Outside Diameter 2" Inside Diameter Approx.) Our Osterizer blender is quite old and the plastic carafe top broke. The blender was not in the list of models that are supported but I took a chance because the images looked like it would match and work. An it did. Buying a new blender is a big deal, many choices, many are expensive. This replacement top works perfectly and fits perfectly and is glass which I prefer over plastic. So I'm really glad I too the chance.
