Almost perfect
I'm going to give this knife block 5 stars with one serious caveat, and I'm new to magnetic knife blocks so I may just have to deal with this.Color: perfect. Condition: perfect. Utility: perfect. Size: 10% too narrow. Weight: size would fix. Balance: size would fix. Grip: Could use more but it would hinder ease of use. You can see where the magnets are but unless it's unused and under a spotlight it's not that bad.Everything I use regularly I can place and stick on this holder with no problem. Unless I want to hold something that is outside of a 45 degree angle to vertical - and then it's "let the holder decide". My 5" utility knife I want to keep flat to the counter for ease of use, but it regularly wanders between 30 degrees above to below horizontal. If I take the time to carefully place things they will stay roughly where I place them, but the immediate grip is for things which are vertical and contact both magnetic strips. If there was some sort of way to tweak the strips to allow for more ease of diverse holding positions, and if it was just a little bigger to allow better stability and use of the inside, it'd be flawless.TL;DR - buy it if you can live with the caveat.

Nice idea, but...
I like the product. Design is nice. Magnetics are adequate. Uniquely shaped. It holds all my knives.But the first one had a small crack on one side. At first I was like, it's fairly small, I can live with it. But then I was like, no I paid for a new product, it should be in new condition.So I ordered a replacement and waited until the new one came in to switch over my knives.The replacement one had two cracks in it! I tried to order a replacement one for the replacement, but the system wouldn't let me. I could only get a refund. I was willing to try again because it is a nice product.I really wanted one for my knives, so I've decided to live with the original one. But it's not in new condition, so it gets docked a couple stars. Oh well.UPDATE: I contacted seller and they were very prompt and courteous. They sent me another knife block and even refunded my original charge for my troubles. Can't get better than that!

Knife block is nice, quality control is lacking. Good design, good looks.
This knife block uses magnets in wood to hold knives. Out of the four pieces of wood, one of them was cracked and bowed slightly so that the knife wouldn’t rest on it in a flat manner.This caused any of the knives I tested on it to slide down until the tip of the knife was resting on the countertop.You could tell it had already been broken at manufacturing because they touched it up with extra paint trying to fill the crack.Either this one got through quality control without being noticed or the quality of the product is not that high in the first place. I’ll use the broken section for my shortest knives so the handles will stop the blades from hitting the granite counters.The knife holder is a neat design and looks very good when loaded up with knives! It’s easy to load the knives as you just set the side against the vertical wood and the magnets grab on.You can place knives on the inside or outside of the wooden square and the magnets will hold on either side so you can store many knives at once.If this one wasn’t broken and touched up I would give it at least one more star and possibly 5 stars.

Versatile
I've never had a magnetic knife block and this one is great! It's extremely versatile, allowing for different sizes and lengths to be stored close at hand and well organized. I really like that knives can be stored inside and out due to the design. I love this!
