Nice knife holder. Measure cabinet space.
I really like the knife holder. It is sturdy. Has strong magnets.The only problem is that when I put all my different knives on it, it won't fit under my cabinets on the kitchen counter.The knife holder is 12 & 3/4 inches tall from the bottom to top. I'm going to figure out where the magnet's are and cut off the bottom of the upright piece, as the unit is held together with screws on the bottom.I advise that you measure the space between the counter top and the bottom of your cabinets and then measure the longest handle on your knives to make sure that it'll fit.I was a butcher for 40+years and have some heavy duty knives and the holder holds them just fine. As you can see, it will hold 20+ knives on both sides. It looks good and is made out of real wood.

Gorgeous, natural knife holder!
Wow, this knife holder is seriously awesome! I love how it looks. It's super minimalist and goes perfectly with my kitchen decor. The magnet is incredibly strong, holding my knives securely in place. Even better, it’s easy to grab the knives when I need them. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a stylish and functional knife storage solution!

Love my knife block
Just assembled my knife block and I love it. The predrilled holes for the screws were perfectly aligned for the finished product and it was easy to attach the base to the magnetic block. I’m probably more impressed than I should be that they included a Phillips head screwdriver in the package.My knife block has lovely variations in the wood grain color for some nice visual interest. The wood is sanded smooth, so no worries about splinters, and is not polished at all. I think I’m going to oil mine a bit to improve the finish, but that’s for my own personal preference.I would definitely recommend this product. The smaller footprint, as compared to a traditional knife block, is fantastic, and it showcases the beauty of my Japanese knife set to its fullest. It holds all of my kitchen knives well and it is still easy to grab my knives for use. Note: sliding the knife up works more smoothly vs pulling the knife away horizontally- duh ;)Anyway, if you’re on the fence about making this purchase I would say go for it. It feels sturdy enough for its task and is a much more attractive option than your grandmas old knife block.

My initial purchase arrived broken - not enough glue on one of the seams clearly, I think it wasn't sanded correctly because there was plenty of glue on the magnets, but they weren't actually touching the board above it. However, I contacted the manufacturer at the email address provided in the box, and attached a few pictures of the damage, They were quick to respond and provided a replacement.For both of the holders I received, everything else worked as designed. Included in the package were 3 screws and a Philips screwdriver, and everything fit solidly and correctly. Quick to assemble, easy to use.I see other review mentioning incorrect hole sizes and sometimes a flat-head screwdriver which is useless for the Philips screws. I did not have either of these issues - all holes were drilled correctly and everything fit snugly. It's very solid.Minus 1 star not for the damage (shipping happens), but I feel the magnets could be stronger. Because there's a layer of wood between the magnets and the knives, they are a little slippery at times. I've never had a knife fall off, but they do slide around a bit and I wish they were more secure.Of course, having received a broken one and seeing how they are designed, I imagine I could make my own and use stronger rare-earth magnets, but we'll see how ambitious I actually get.But if you're looking for a nice-looking free-standing knife holder, I believe this to be a good product and an excellent solution for the low cost.

Strong, sturdy, and looks beautiful
I bought this magnetic block because I wanted something that could show off my knives, something less bacteria-ridden, and something smaller. Well the jokes on me, the footprint is about the same as my standard knife block, however it is much thinner, and therefore sits on the countertop much easier. I also needed something that would hold my new carving knife, as the previous block was too small, causing it to both stick out and drag on the counter.This magnetic block looks absolutely gorgeous in my opinion, especially after a couple of coats of mineral oil (same stuff I use for my cutting board). It fits all the knives I like to display on it (5 in front, as well as 1 carving fork, 1 pair of kitchen shears, and 1 knife in back with room to spare), the magnet is strong enough to supply a confident grip on the knives, but not so strong that it wobbles when pulling it off, and keeping the knives out as opposed to in a slot ensure no bacteria builds up in dark damp places (seriously, I did not realize how disgusting that old block was. Pro tip, don't look in yours before you throw it away).Extremely happy with my purchase.

Absolutely LOVE this knife block!
This thing is very well made, packaged, and shipped!!!!!!!!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!Came with everything including a screw driver to put it together. It’s solid wood, long sturdy screws and 3 magnets on each side!I currently have 12 knives on mine and have room for a few more.Pros:Thin but very strong3 magnets on each sideSolid woodBeautifulCons:The only thing I wish was that’s it was a full magnet on each side so I can place knives in any direction.
