I really needed this!
I always struggle cutting our block of hard cheese. This saved the day. The quality is really good. It is a nice size. This would be super cute as a gift with a cutting board and some cheese.

This cheese cutter is a total win! The stainless steel blade is sharp and glides smoothly through everything from semi-soft to hard cheeses without crumbling or tearing. It slices cleanly and evenly every time, and I’ve been using it nonstop for charcuterie boards and snack prep. The handle is ergonomic and super comfortable to grip—even during longer slicing sessions. It feels solid and well-balanced, not flimsy like some cheaper alternatives. Also, major plus: it’s dishwasher safe, which makes cleanup a breeze. This tool feels professional-grade and has become a go-to in my kitchen. If you love cheese as much as I do, you’ll love this slicer. Highly recommend!
I love this thing! I don't use it for cheese, I actually use it as a bartender when getting peels for drinks. I like this because it create a uniform slice everytime. Also it leaves my fingers a little more out of the way when quickly grabbing peels. Add to that the fact that they are easier to clean and just kind of look better when using them! I have used this a few times to cut cheese and I will say it works wonderfully for that as well!
This is my first cheese plane and I find it very easy to use. I like that it is all stainless steel: It's lightweight but it doesn't feel flimsy. It slices the cheese easily, though it will take me a while to master getting just the right pressure so I can get the thickness I want. I love that I don't have to worry about a knife accidentally slipping. The current price of $14.19 seems a bit high, but the fact that there is no plastic and it seems to be made to last a good while makes it a good value.
The Restaurantware-German Standard Cheese Cutter is a heavy-duty kitchen tool that feels good when using, being ergonomic. The weight of the cutter is good and feels comfortable in the hand. It passed the dishwasher test, and is very well made. I was hoping it would give me the uniform slices of cheese I was hoping for, but I was unable to draw it through a block of cojack with ease, and the slices were uneven. Perhaps the problem is with my hand which has diminished strength, but I found it difficult to make nice, evenly thick slices. I often prepare charcuterie boards and was hoping I could produce attractive slices for the board. The tool looks and feels perfect for its intended use, but it just isn’t the tool for me. It probably needs a stronger hand for better control.
Well, I do. Most of my kitchen was destroyed in a hurricane, so while cheese planing was not exactly at the top of the list of priorities, I was happy to be offered this product. Coincidentally, it's almost identical to the one I lost. Where it's not identical is the little teeth on the blade, which is neither good nor bad. It's just a matter of preference. It creates a good starting grip on the cheese and makes it easier to work with smaller blocks, but as a consequence it does not deliver a perfectly smooth slice. I don't particularly care if the cheese has teeth mark striping through it and prefer to have the good starting grip, but if you're planning on doing little deli style platters to have out on the table precut and you want them to be pristine, it's something to consider. To me easier is better and the teeth make a very easy job of it. I prefer that for the guests too as I would usually just leave this out for them to use themselves rather than doing anything in bulk in the kitchen first, and that should be easy. Zero complaints about this product from me.
So far so good with this stainless steel cheese cutter! Cuts with ease, dishwasher safe, feels solid in hand, and works for many different types of cheese, from semi-soft to hard and everything in between! Good product at a decent price, and should last for years.
