This Bag Saved Our Bread from a Soggy Fate
My wife has gotten seriously into baking sourdough, which is fantastic for my carb-loving soul but has created a major logistical problem: how do you store a giant, crusty loaf of bread? A plastic bag turns that beautiful crust into a soggy sponge. Leaving it on the counter means it's a rock by day two. I saw this beeswax bag and figured it was worth a shot to protect her masterpiece. When it arrives, it has that distinct, slightly sweet, and pleasant smell of natural beeswax. The bag itself is made of a sturdy canvas-like cotton on the outside with the waxy, coated lining on the inside. It feels well-made.Here's the real test: We let a fresh loaf cool completely, put it in the bag, zipped it up, and cinched the buckle. The next day, the crust was still surprisingly crisp, not tough, and the inside was still soft and fresh. By day three, it was still in great shape for toast, which is a huge improvement over any other method we've tried. The bag really does seem to hit the perfect balance of letting the bread breathe just enough without letting it dry out.The Reality Check: The buckle that doubles as a carry handle is a clever touch, though I'm not sure how often I'll be carrying my bread around like a briefcase. The main thing to know is the cleaning process. You can't just toss this in the washing machine. It’s a wipe-down or a gentle hand wash with cool water. It’s a small trade-off for keeping your bread fresh, and it's the price of admission for a reusable, sustainable product.Value-wise, it's a no-brainer. For what you’d pay for a couple of artisan loaves at the bakery, you get a bag that will make all your homemade bread last longer. It pays for itself by reducing food waste.Bottom line: This bag actually works. It does a fantastic job of preserving the crust and freshness of homemade bread for several days. If you're a home baker, this is a must-have piece of kit. It’s a simple, clever, and effective solution.

Excellent bags!
These are pretty expensive but they're very, very nice. Exactly what I wanted. I hate fighting with clingfilm and smothering my lovely bread in plastic, and had been wanting to try a beeswax bag. These are plenty big enough to accommodate a whole loaf of very-puffy shokupan, and would absolutely fit a hearty sourdough boule.I love that these come with a zipper in case you can't roll down the closure until you've gone through some of the loaf. And it's great that these come in a two-pack.The cotton is heavy-duty and the zipper is strong and smooth. The buckles clasp and unclasp easily and seem sturdy, not that they need to take a lot of stress.I tested one bag with a loaf of fresh-baked (fully cooled) shokupan, an enriched white bread, for eight days. On day 5 I cut the loaf into slices. All the cut sides stayed fresh and tender for the duration. Very, very happy with these.I don't think a rustic loaf with a really crackly crust would stay shatter-crisp in one of these, because they do a nice job of keeping the loaf humidified.(A loaf normally doesn't last 8 days in our household but I was testing another product at the same time so we were trying to eat two loaves in a week!)My set didn't come with surprise bonus beeswax bowl covers; I didn't expect them to, they aren't mentioned in the listing, but don't make your purchasing decision based on expecting those.Aesthetically the bags look fine. I don't understand the point of printing ads for the product that I am actively using, the product that is already sitting on my counter, all over the product itself - it's not like I'm traipsing about in public with my bagful of bread. Is it for social media? Who knows. But I can ignore it. They're not ugly.Pricewise I think this is a fair price for two very nice quality bags.

Beeswax Bread Bag
Good quality, but zipper could be smootherThese beeswax bags are a nice alternative to plastic wrap or paper. They do a solid job keeping bread soft and fresh, and the large size fits my big homemade loaves easily. The only small issue is that the zipper can be a little stiff at first — I had to work it gently a few times to loosen it up. Otherwise, the material is sturdy and has a nice natural scent.✅ Great size for large loaves✅ Keeps moisture in without getting soggy⚠️ Zipper feels a bit stiff initially

Keeps bread fresh!
These keep my homemade sourdough fresh, or at least free of mold, for about 6 days, which is more than satisfactory. The crust doesn't stay as crisp as fresh baked, which is to be expected, but the bread doesn't get stale either. It pretty much holds for 6 days what day 2 bread feels like if that makes sense. I like the zip closure - that makes it easy to ensure the bag is closed. It is not that easy to clean - I did have one loaf mold and since I have a severe mold allergy, I was told the beeswax can retain spores and is not easy to clean so I had to toss one. That was an unusually humid week in my state though - since then I still get my usual 6 days out of a loaf. Fits large rustic loaves - I make big oval loaves, and big sandwich loaves without a problem.

Great bread bags for bread without preservatives!
I don't buy breads that have more than 4-5 ingredients, or I make homemade bread, so they tend to mold very quickly. These bread bags are amazing for keeping it fresh for a much longer period of time. The design is very cute and functional with a zipper and a fold over with clips to push the air out. The insides of the bags are coated with beeswax to limit airflow. They are easy to rinse and let dry in between uses. One bag will hold multiple loaves of bread.
