Beeswax Covers That Simplify My Bread Routine
I bake bread several times a week and enjoy the process, but I try hard to keep kitchen mess to a minimum. One way I do that is by handling as many steps as possible in a single bowl. I mix, knead, ferment, and let the dough rise in my KitchenAid mixing bowl. The problem was always covering the bowl. I’d been using damp towels, which added extra steps and still required monitoring to keep them from drying out.I could have purchased a dedicated lid for my mixing bowl, but I prefer not to buy single-use items when something more universal will work across multiple containers. That’s what led me to try these beeswax bowl covers. So far, they’ve worked out very well. My order included two large, stretchy covers that fit my mixing bowl perfectly with room to spare. They also fully cover my bread bannetons, (and my Instant Pot insert) which has been a nice bonus.Cleaning does require a little care. Because they’re beeswax, you can’t use super hot water, but they hand wash easily with dish soap and air dry quickly. Once I adjusted to that, they became very easy to maintain. These covers have quickly become a staple in my bread-making routine and have simplified my process considerably.

Much better than silicone
I am really impressed with these beeswax bowl covers. I have the silicone ones in 5 different sizes, but those did not come in the 12" size and they are challenging to get onto a bowl. These covers are nothing like those silicone covers. These covers are beyond easy to get onto your bowl and, because of what they are made out of, they will effortlessly fit onto multiple different size bowls. The elastic is snug without having to wrestle with it. I think it is there more for extra convenience in case you just need a quick cover without having to smooth it on for a molded fit.The material, cotton with beeswax, etc., makes it easy to shape and form into a tight-fitting cover, similar to saran wrap. All you have to do to achieve this is warm the cover in your hands for a few seconds, put the cover on and smooth it out over the top and sides of the bowl. The covers are easily cleaned with a damp cloth and then towel dried or air dried. They fold up flat, making them simple and unobtrusive to store. The bee design is cheerful and blends well with most decor.

Works on many shapes and sizes
The pack of two bowl covers come individually packaged. They are elasticized for different shapes and sizes of containers/bowels. The beeswax covers feel different than the cotton towels I normally use for proofing, but offer a better fit. So far I've used them twice and both times my dough proofs well. I like that they're ready to use out of the package, and that they fit a myriad of bowl sizes and shapes. I also like that the dough doesn't stick to them. My only complaint is that they come in only one size. It would have been better to offer one 12" and another a few inches larger. I'm really thrilled to have found these reusable bread proofing covers so I can get rid of my dedicated dough rising towels! These take up little space and they're cute with the bees!

Cute and Versatile
There are a lot of things I like about these reusable bowl covers. First, you get two large covers, and the bee design is absolutely adorable. I really like the feel of the material: it almost has a slightly plasticky texture at first touch, but it isn’t plastic at all. It’s made from organic cotton with beeswax, pine resin, and jojoba oil, which feels both sturdy and natural. The 12-inch size is very versatile. I used one on a 12-inch stainless steel bowl and it fit perfectly. I also tried it on my 10-inch and 9-inch bowls that I use for proofing bread dough, and it worked well there too, just with a little extra material on the sides, as shown in the picture.Beyond bread proofing, these will be especially useful in the warmer months for keeping bugs off food. Overall, they’re functional, well-made, and a cute, eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap.

Exactly what I needed to cover my proofing bowl!
As a sourdough baker, I am always trying to finagle a solution when I’m letting my bread ferment in the mixing bowl. We have one bowl with a lid but the other doesn’t have one, and I’m almost never making just one batch of bread dough, so I’m usually forced to go with plastic wrap which doesn’t stay put at all. These are just perfect for my needs. I was worried it might not be real beeswax but upon removal from the bag, the fabric smells and feels like beeswax so I’m convinced there. The cover is nice and spacious and should cover a range of bowl sizes, and the tight weave of the beeswax-coated fabric helps keep the moisture inside the bread bowl where I want it. The print is so adorable as well!

Fantastic Bowl Covers for Bread Proofing & Food Storage
These Reusable Beeswax Bowl Covers are exactly what every baker needs!
