Aside from being beautiful this is my go to kitchen tool. I actually threw away my plastic colander to make room for this. I am a minimalist, but this is unique and used frequently. Since there are several items on this page I am reviewing the rice washing black silicone base bowl. It is very useful for soaking and washing all grains such as rice, quinoa, lentils, and beans, etc. The micro drainage holes are at the right height to allow you to have water to the level to actually soak/wash fruits and vegetables and then easily pour out the water with the lip preventing the contents from spilling. The silicone base is very stable and handy to keep the bowl from sliding around

Works good as a rice rinsre and even a mixing bowl. Rice can get stuck in the drain holes but my wife loves this so who am I to judge. I do it old style and rinse it in the rice cooker bowl but she finds this better. It is well made and definitely worth the money.

This is now my go to bowel for washing rice, fruit vegetables and even draining hamburger meat. Works but only for some type of rice

I make long grain Indian rice. I have to put my hand where the holes are or I’d lose quite a few grains: the holes are too big. You’d have the same problem with wild rice. Kind of defeats the purpose but I can’t be bothered to look another one. I wouldn’t recommend it for anything other than pearl rice.
