almost too nice to use
This Riverbank solid oak butcher block is absolutely beautiful — honestly, almost too nice to use. The craftsmanship is excellent, with thick, solid wood and a smooth, well-finished surface that feels premium the moment you pick it up. It’s heavy, sturdy, and clearly built to last.The size is perfect for serious prep work, and the integrated handles make it easy to move despite the weight. The wood grain looks fantastic, to the point where it honestly feels more like a display piece than a cutting board. It arrived well-packaged and ready to use, with no warping or imperfections.It’s definitely on the higher end price-wise, but the quality matches the cost. If you want a high-end, durable cutting board that looks as good as it performs, this one is absolutely worth it.

Great board.
I ordered this board to place on top of an older board to give some extra height. It certainly gets this job done.The board itself is very well made. It is solid and heavy. The thickness is much greater than lesser boards and overall it's a quality item. It's hard to say if it's a "buy it for life" product, but if it's not it will come very close. With proper care it should last practically forever.When the board arrived I did notice some unusual blemishes. With a few rounds of applying mineral oil these have all but disappeared. They recommend flipping the board every so often to prevent the chances of warping, which makes sense. I did add some stick on rubber feet on one side to allow water to evaporate easily when it gets underneath. This should help with the issue of warping and when it comes time to flip the board I can easily remove them and transfer to the other side. No problem.Although a bit more expensive tan other boards it still is an economical choice based on its expected longevity. It's also a bit less expensive the comparable cutting boards making it a solid choice.I can and do recommend.

Sturdy European oak board!
This cutting board from the Riverbank store is made of solid European oak and arrived in perfect condition, packaged in a sturdy, giftable box. It has a substantial weight, exactly what I expect from a durable cutting board. It was finished with natural flaxseed oil, which gives me peace of mind that it is fully natural and food‑safe.The board is double‑sided, and I chose the largest size (24 × 18 × 1.5 inches), which provides a good amount of working space. So far, I have used it for butchering and processing a large goose, and it fit well on the board.I hand‑washed it with soap and water, rinsed it well, and allowed it to dry thoroughly before storing. It is not dishwasher‑safe, and the oil finish may need occasional reapplication to maintain the wood.I am pleased with this cutting board and highly recommend it!

Large cutting board
This wooden cutting board is very large, larger than I anticipated. I took a photo with one of my chef knives to show comparison from my hands, the knife, and the cutting board. It feels smooth to touch and has openings on the side for holding. The board has the typical weight you would expect from a solid piece or wood this size. The price does feel a little high, this is more than I usually spend for cutting boards, but you can tell it’s good quality. For a high end cutting board, the price is comparable from what I’ve seen. I recommend this board if you’re okay with the price and want a large cutting board.

This is a really nice oak butcher block. It's actually massive, and very heavy. The handles are comfortable and easy to lift it. Very durable -- this will last me a lifetime. This is large enough to cover my kitchen sink for meal prep. I love the color -- my photo really doesn't do it justice. All of the edges are finished nicely, and it feels very professional. This cutting board arrived just in time for Christmas. We used it for the first time that day specifically when we made our 15 lb. Cajun Fried Turkey (see photo).The board comes nicely packed in a huge nice handled box similar to an artist’s supplies transport box. It is very solid and a huge very heavy piece of smoothly crafted wood that looks great, and stays securely in place on the counter even when carving the large piece of meat.
