37 years of being a chef and I highly recommend this!
I've been a professional chef for over 37 years and I am really impressed with how well this works on my professional chef knives.I have always used a steel to sharpen my knives, but years of repetitive motion have given me chronic tendonitis, making it difficult for me to use the steel and get a good edge. I had all been given up on sharpening my own knives (sending them out makes me cringe because I know they are being ground on a bench grinder), when I saw an ad for a similar item. I immediately came to Amazon and found this one. The reviews were good and the price was very reasonable compared to other items, so I decided to give it a shot.To say that I am happy with the results is an understatement. The product is very easy to use, and even if you aren't used to sharpening your own knives, you will quickly pick up on what it feels like to have a smooth edge. As thing grinds down the burrs you well feel a change in how the wheel is running against the blade. It will run smoothly down the blade. Once you feel that, you simply switch to the other side and hone it.It took me less than 4 minutes to take my knife blade from dull and dinged, so smooth and razor sharp. It was effortless and very quick. The weight and ease of use meant I could sharpen my knives myself again without aggravating my wrists and forearms. And the plus is that this works better than any steel I have ever used!Time will tell as far as durability, but so far I find the quality of the product exceptional, the results great, and it incredibly easy to use.

Fantastic sharpener!
Super easy to use and works great. Easily the best sharpener I own when I want to put a good edge on a knife quickly and effortlessly. There may be better roller sharpener systems out there, but this one cannot be beat when it comes to bang-for-your-buck.

A simple and effective way to sharpen knives.
The rolling cylinder has two sides with a low grit and high grit for and the magnetic block has two angles for different sharpening preferences. Overall the sharpener is a great value and makes sharpening knives so much easier. I have used professional stones for many years, but I was looking for something that I could use and keep handy in my kitchen. The other sharpen stones I had were from commercial kitchens and took up space. The build quality is excellent and the color looks great. The rolling cylinder is easy to use and is safe - just pay attention to the instructions. In the comfort category, I would rate this very high since you’re not move the knife against a stone or a steel; you’re moving the sharpener. The weight of the set is not too heavy but well-designed for stability.
