This was so easy to use and really does work! My favorite knives had gotten dull and I didn't like the other style of sharpener I had. I grabbed this one and ten minutes later all my knives were cutting as good as new. It was easy to hold, the magnet was strong enough, and I had no issues with my knives not getting sharp enough. This is a great price, too!
Although it does sharpen large knives well, it doesn't work for smaller blades such as fillet or paring knives. It is easy to use and comes with both a coarse and fine grit.
Very cool. Slick, does it's job, easy, and way cheaper than some of the fancy ones. Can't say if it works as well, but I have no complaints!
I love this sharper. I’ve used the pull thru sharpeners that didn’t do a good job. This sharpener sharpened all the knives the others messed up. You will need a leather strap to get your knife razor sharp. You have to listen when sharpening, listen for the sound to sound smooth. After using the 400 and 1000 diamond grit sides, you have to make one lite pass with the 1000 grit sides to hit rid of the very small burr, then use the leather strap. Don’t touch the edge or you will get cut.
It does work, but too inefficient.It does not sharpen the knife to the same kind of sharpness as a regular sharpening stone can. The effect it has is rather "minimal," unless substantial amount of time is invested into the sharpening process. It is too inefficient.I wholeheartedly recommend those who wish to sharpen their knife either get a regular sharpening stone, and use some 30 minutes to learn and practice this life-long beneficial skill, or use the same $30 to find a nearby craft store to sharpen that for you.
For then price it does the job. How long it’llLast is the question.
This knife makes it easy to put a very serviceable edge on MOST knives. If you don't know how to use a set of stones its very useful. It does not however sharpen small knives easily, the magnet isn't strong enough to hold small knives above the magnet block for sharpening. Also it its completely unable to sharpen my chinese cleaver type chef knives, as they are too tall for the roller. overall its worth it to easily put a good edge on most of my kitchen and large utility knives, it takes little to no practice.
