Efficient and Safe: Rösle Stainless Steel Apple Cutter/Slicer Simplifies Snack Preparation
The Rösle Stainless Steel Apple Cutter/Slicer has greatly enhanced our snack preparation with its ability to cleanly slice apples into eight equal parts while removing the core separately. Its sharp blade and innovative design make it easy to use and safe to store, thanks to the included Storage Guard. We've found it perfect for apples, and while it's advertised for pears and potatoes as well, we can't personally attest to that. Rösle's superior quality and lifetime warranty make this a reliable and worthwhile addition to any kitchen, particularly for fruit lovers looking to simplify their snack prep.

Very sturdy and reliable
I have gone through so many other brands of these apples slicers and they never hold up. This particular brand is a little on the pricier side, but it is extremely durable and sharp. I like that it comes with a blade guard. I’m pretty sure I will have this for many years to come, which makes it well worth the investment.

Outstanding apple/pear cutter
Rosle Apple CutterPros:- 100% high-quality (18/10) stainless steel. Frame is smooth as glass and stays stiff under use.- blades are sharp; cap when not in use to prevent nicking. One reviewer said the cap is too loose, but ours stays on.- Comfortable grip handle allows quick, safe, slicing.- Blade to frame attachment appears to be solid (blades sometimes come off cheaper cutters)- Only the blades contact the cutting board, as they are 1/16" below the frame. (See Customer Images.) Thus, the core and sections cut cleanly through.- Frame has a ½" hole to hang it up.Cons:- Cuts apples up to 3.5" in diameter, versus 4.25" on some others (e.g.,Kitchen Aid).Other:- Core cutter diameter is 13/16", about the same as our other cutters. Seems fine.- cuts apple or pear into 8 sections.- Designed and engineered in Germany; made in China.Summary:This was the most expensive apple cutter we could find, but we bought it based on the fine Amazon reviews. We haven't used every apple cutter on the marker, but my guess is this is the best. It's an outstanding product.

Comfortable to use and cuts well
I was given this apple slicer as a gift several years ago. Recently my mom visited and used mine. She is now in her 70s and dealing with some arthritis in her hands. She loved the wide handles (so she could use more of her palms to apply pressure rather than having to grip narrow handles with her thumbs and fingers), found the handles comfortable and easier to control than narrow handles, and was impressed with how easily the blades sliced through the apple. I ended up getting her one for her birthday because she commented a few times during her visit how much she liked the slicer.I also love that it comes with the plastic protective guard for when it sits in the drawer, and there's no plastic on the slicer to crack and break. I used to have a slicer that was a combination of metal and plastic and it cracked in just a few years. Some people have complained that it doesn't fit all apples. They must have really large apples, because I have never had problems cutting apples.

Love it, but wish it could handle bigger apples
After reading so many reviews about other types of apple slicers falling apart, we went looking for a metal one and were so happy to find this one. It has held up well to almost daily use, with no sign of rust or weakening, and the blades are still very sharp. It comes with a cover for the sharp edges - the cover doesn't snap on, so won't stay on in a drawer or somewhere where it's not flat, but works great if you have a place where you can set it in the cover and just leave it setting flat and undisturbed. Took one star off because it's too small for most of the apples we encounter. If you apply a lot of force, you can often get it to cut through the big ones because it will slice off the part of the apple that is too big to fit inside the slicer. But be forewarned that it does take a lot of force to do that. The inner diameter of the slicer is just under 3.5 inches. If any part of your apple is bigger than a wide-mouth canning jar lid, it's bigger than the slicer's inner diameter. Overall, we love this thing! One of the simple pleasures in life.
