Quality Design and Build
There are two reasons I write this review:1) I own and enjoy this product, and2) 2 of the 4 existing reviews written before I post this are downright horrid!(If you have only a minimum of a politically correct education, you probably know that when a person is black, Jewish or short it tells you little or nothing more than that that person is black, Jewish or short. Broad generalizations often don't work for people, and they don't work any better for manufactured products.)This pie server is indeed labeled "Made in China". What should that tell you? Well... maybe only that it's made in China! As for the quality of the product, it's first rate! Everything about it is aligned and balanced. The designers and engineers have done their job because I cannot think of any way to improve it!This knife is a specialty product designed for pies, and I'd also reach for it to slice cake and Lasagna. On one side there are two types of serrations that make it ideal for slicing delicate crust. On the other, there's a dull blade, which is good for slicing something delicate and moist, like a cake. If you want a general purpose knife to slice firmer things, I'd choose a chef's knife because it's more versatile. If you want a knife that can cut out that first slice of apple pie with elegance, this is the tool! It's also a lot more elegant than bringing your chef's knife to the dining table. When you make judgments, culinary colleagues, please look only at the merits. I come from a German heritage and tradition, and I'd say that the German decision makers selected the right Chinese manufacturer for this product. Though I might denounce some Chinese manufacturers for other shabby products that I've owned, and also the Chinese nation for political disagreements, the Chinese individuals who worked to bring me this quality pie server did a fine job! Take the "Made in China" sticker off, and no one can tell that it wasn't made by one of the best manufacturers in Germany, America, or any other nation stereotyped as making high-quality products.

Best cake server on the market
I'm a cake designer, so when I say this kitchen tool is the holy grail of cake servers, take it to heart. It's a very stiff, exceptionally sharp stainless steel blade which is perfectly shaped to get right to the tip of a slice of cake or pie, and support it on the way to a plate. Moreover, one side of the blade is serrated to cut through apples in a tart, and the like. When used in conjunction with a pitcher of very hot water, dipping and then drying the blade between slices, you will achieve the most perfect presentation possible. It's well worth the money, and is of exceptionally high quality. Rosle gadgets are the best. You buy them once, and never replace them.

The best cake weapon around!
I didn't buy mine through Amazon, but at a local kitchen store over 10 years ago. It still looks like new and slays cakes just like it did when I first got it. The key to its greatness is the thinness of the blade, the serrations and the stiffness. After using this server, I will never use another.

For flat-plated desserts only
Cuts well, but it would be better if it was designed with an offset handle so that you could cut (and serve) desserts that are on a plate with rims or edges. The tart, torte, pie, etc. has to be plated on a flat surface in order to cut it with this tool. So it has limited usability.

Inconsistency
This is made in China, not Germany. It is an exuberant amount to pay for a product that did not cost much to make.

Poor Quality - Overpriced
This Rosle product is made in China, and its quality is very inferior to the German-made utensils. Rosle is ruining their reputation with these cheaper Chinese-made products. Too bad that they will prostitute their name and image to make a few more bucks.
