Really nice, comprehensive cake pop kit
The MOOROL circle cake pop mold kit was such a great surprise! I've made sphere shaped cake pops many many times- don't let those online videos fool you, they take some practice!I decided to test how easy these were to use and I gave this set to my teen who has never made cake pops before. We didn't go fancy, we just mixed yellow butter cake mix with a few tablespoons of store bought frosting for our 'testing' purposes. Plot twist: these are MUCH!!!! Easier to make than traditional sphere shaped cake pops!Everything outside of a stand to set the pops in while they set right after the entire pop is dunked in coating, is included in this kit. If you're purchasing, be aware that you need something to set your freshly dipped pops in, while they dry.The press, trays to rest the pops in while the sticks set before dipping, sticks, and bags with twist ties are included. I think the inclusion of bags with twist ties is adorable! You can make these and gift them -without having to make a separate purchase! I think this is a really fair price for what is included in the kit.How we used them: mix cake and frosting of choice together thoroughly until it has a dough-like consistency, the pops will hold together better for dipping. We used a cookie scoop to portion out, but this isn't necessary. Place the cake/frosting dough in the mold. Press. We used a silicone mat to press against- my countertops are granite with a texture- so for us this was a necessity. But it's a nice option if you have one, to make clean up easier. Parchment paper would probably also work well.Once the pops are formed, dip one end of your stick in melted coating of choice.Push stick with chocolate on the end of it into the pop, rest on tray, and place in refrigerator to set up, 5-10 minutes. Once set, dip pops in melted chocolate wafers, sprinkle with sugar crystals or sprinkles of choice, and leave to dry.Note: do NOT thin melting wafer coating with oil or butter, etc.. it won't set. When purchasing melting wafers, I also get paramount crystals for thinning. Colors tend to thicken up more quickly than white, so when I don't have crystals on hand to thin out my mixture that's the color I stick to.My only issue with this whole kit was the thickness of the sticks. We did lose a few due to 'wilting' because the sticks bent over with the moisture and weight of the cake pop. But as you can see plenty held up. While I'd like to see thicker pop sticks, I would still buy this kit again.

Makes fancy treats for special occasions! I have always wanted a cake pop mold set to make fancy desserts for parties. I have only ever made cake pops the traditional way by rolling cake into spheres. This cake pop mold set is simple to use and easy to clean. The dough easily slides out of the cutter while maintaining its shape. The 1.75" size is a good size to fit more decorations and designs on the back and front sides of the cake pops. The plastic holder for the cake pops functions well with holding up the shape of the cake pops. The cake sticks are strong and long enough. It is very convenient that plastic bags are also included (one less trip to the store). The quality is good for the price. I will continue to use the cake pop cutter and mold for future parties! It is also a fun activity for kids.
