Love Love Love this product and have received a million compliments. It's impermiabe because it's thick. Probably about an 8th of an inch or so. So easy to clean. Just wipe off with glass cleaner for the shine you see here. I have only one dining room ( no kitchen table) so my beautiful cherry dining table is the center of our family hub. I'm the grandma of 3 young boys who spend a lot of time at this table, eating, doing crafts, climbing on it to build with Legos or set up Transformer wars. I like the table to be protected so I have a felt table pad on top which is very ugly. I cover it with a lovely lace tablecloth that would never stand up to children, let alone 3 clawing kitties. In the past I've ordered heavy duty clear table cloths but those only last a couple of months before getting sliced or torn and then food, liquid & dirt leak through. They're also always very wrinkled and cloudy looking. Additionally, I work at home from this table and could never write on it because the plastic tablecloth was so thin the lace cloth underneath made it too lumpy to write on. This cover literally solves every single problem. It doesn't wrinkle and is easy to write on and clean. It stands up to kitties, small children & massive family dinners. It protects your table and tablecloth with a with heavy duty, waterproof shield and I can easily write on during work hours. Best of all, it's clear so you can see my pretty lace tablecloth below. I didn't pick the completely clear one because the reviews discouraged it. I picked the "smoke" color but it looks totally clear once on the table.I measured my table as instructed. It's big. 108 x 44 and sent in the measurements. Within a week my table topper arrived. It was cut to specification and although the box was heavy once I removed the product it rolled right open flat. I didn't have any problems with the product curling or smelling bad. I immediately placed it on the table to check the fit. It was almost perfect out of the box but I did have to trim about an inch off of the long side and about 1/2 inch off of one corner near the table head.The product came with a measuring tape and small trimming tool however I felt I had more control trimming with sharp scissors. Though the product is a little thick and heavy duty to trim with scissors, my end result was perfect in every way. I have no idea what your lifestyle is like but for this work at home grandma with a very busy family life and only one table ( That I'd like to keep gorgeous but use every day) this product was the answer to my prayers.

Durable barrier to protect your table, but not the easiest to clean
This product was okay. Pros: Very durable plastic; thickNote to buyer: It took a couple of days of laying canned goods entirely around the edge to get this thing to stay flat. I bought 48 inch versionMy only complaint is that it is not the easiest thing to clean. Even when I manage to wipe it clean before things dry on it, which if they do makes it hard to remove it from the tough plastic, but then I could never get water spots off completely.I would still recommend the product due to its durability and its providing a good barrier to save your table underneath, which was the point in getting it. Product just may not be something you want to have out constantly if you are more concerned about aesthetics of your kitchen/dining room and don't want water spots.

Product is a great option for your table top
This is a great option for your table. I was looking at glass and I'm sure that would have been fine, then I came across this option and this it the way to go. It was not as expensive, I didn't have to worry about glass coming in the mail all broken, and this clear plastic solution is much more forgiving if you drop something on it, and you still get the beauty of the table shining though. Now here's the catch, you have to be patient. You can't get this stuff in the mail and just throw it on the table. First of all, if it's cold outside you will have to at least bring the plastic up to room temp to work with. Then you will need a heat gun, a hair dryer is ok but will take much longer. This stuff will take quite a bit of heat to get it to lay flat. I used a heat gun and warmed it up good working on all the humps and bumps. While doing that I would lift it every so often and let it lay back down. I did this section by section and around the edges and in about 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes the plastic was laying nice and flat. Yes, it takes a little work with this stuff but worth it. Once done you never have to mess with it again. If you do use a heat gun don't stay in one place to long keep moving the gun around. In places where the bumps are drastic give it more heat and don't forget to lift the plastic once and a while and let it flop back down as your working. When done you will be happy with the results. I just finished two tables of my own. A large dining room table, and my 36"x36" kitchen table and both look great.
