It also shows no obvious signs of plastic abrasion from regular use (no obvious sign of plastic getting in the food contents).While the product states it is dishwasher safe, I would avoid putting any plastic parts in the dishwasher, including the metal base (it has a silicon boot) because over time, heat cycles tend to weaken and brittle plastic and adhesives. So I wash this product by hand to preserve its longevity.Considering there are other salad spinners in the online marketplace that cost 50% more and are practically garbage, this one is a great buy. I hope to have it for a while, but at the time of writing this, I have only used it a few times.
