Exactly As Described!! Wonderful!
Pro: Just what I was expecting! Finally, a well-made glass shaker with multiple size holes that are easy to adapt to a variety of types of salt or pepper. Not only can you see what it contains, one has a white panel on the stainless steel top and the other has a black panel on the top to fill with any content you want. Not leak proof or air tight for liquids, but if you wanted to use them for other spices like granulated onion, garlic, bay leaves, rosemary, tarragon, chili powder, Parmesan cheese, etc. they would be suitable; especially if cooking for a lot of people all at once. Obviously, if not used up within a week, the freshness of anything you keep in it will be limited. Appearance and functionality is great! I appreciate how easy they are to grasp in my hands as I do have arthritis in my joints and fingers. I don't own a dishwasher, but they are easy to wash and dry by hand.Con: None for me. They are empty of salt, pepper, or any other ingredients so you can buy fresh herbs, and fill them halfway or to the top as you like. Recommended!

Fabulous with big salt flakes!
We always freshly crack our pepper over our recipes and our plates, so didn’t need a pepper shaker. But ever since we switched from regular table salt to Kosher salt (big) flakes, we’re using one of these shakers for that. If I can find a large grain or flake salt we like that contains iodine, we’ll use the second shaker.Too, since the ‘science’ behind criticism of MSG has been thoroughly debunked, I’m thinking of using the second shaker for MSG. Yes, I said it. MSG is anymore considered by the US FDA as Generally Recognized as Safe, or GRAS. And it’s the easiest way to add that inimitable “fifth taste” — umami — to your dishes!Too, I’ll probably buy up some food-safe and inert desiccant packs to help protect the shaker contents from humidity.Pros: Has selection of 3 hole sizes plus a totally closed one. One is completely open, one is for big flakes, and the last is for fine grains and powders. It makes recipe-making and tableside use easier. Jar holds a lot more than a little table salt shaker, and is far less tippy because it’s stout and nicely wide at the base. They’re great if you buy your salts and dried spices in bulk, but don’t want the hassle of going into the big package all the time. And great if you’re getting tired of refilling a tiny shaker frequently.Cons: Really none, but I recommend turning the grain setting to fully-closed after using, to reduce the content’s exposure to humidity.

Has some quirks
Pretty great but has some oddities. The threads on the lid aren't contiguous, which means they gaps at intervals along their "path". They are engineered this way, which is to say they still function and the threads still progress along their expected pitch. The problem with this is that it allows contents of the shakers to make their way down to the lip of the glass and the final lip of the lid itself. This is only an issue when you go to open it, like when refilling. You will get a handful of contents from the shakers spill out when refilling, so you need to do it over the sink/trash. If the threads were contiguous this wouldn't happen.The swivel of the metal part of the shaker that exposes the holes can sometimes get a little bound up, which then causes the plastic part of the lid to spin and the cap starts to come off. I wish the plastic part of the cap had more of a hip to it so you could actually grip it and tighten down the lid more so it wasn't impacted so much by the friction of the metal cap spinning.Otherwise I'm happy with them, won't be returning them. Just kind of silly though, it seems like whoever made these would have used them once and been like "Hmm, we should revise this before making millions of them".

Love these, large, easy to adjust hole size. Well-made.
We have loved these salt and pepper shakers. We use them to cook with. The largest opening is perfect for the stove. But if I need them for the table, it’s so easy to make it smaller holes. Nice heavy duty glass. Just what I wanted.

Lid on salt shaker seizes up and becomes non-adjustable-Seller provided full refund
Initially I thought this set was great. Nice size for next to cooktop, easy wide opening for filling and I could adjust the dispenser to either shaker, or a large opening when I needed a good deal of salt, like for boiling corn. However, after just a few weeks of use, when I spun the lid to switch from shaker to large opening, I couldn’t spin it back to the shaker hole adjustment. It was stuck like it was superglued. My husband suggested I soak it in hot water, which did the trick to unstick it, but now I have to wait for the lid to thoroughly dry out or I’m going to have a lobby damp salt mess. It’s been 2 days and it’s still wet between the plastic part and the outside lid. When it finally dries out it will never be adjusted again! 😕Edit-the Seller reached out and offered a full refund for the defective product. I appreciate to great customer service!
