Well made pot and burner. I see a long life for this product.
Is perfect
Not bad for the price burns stuff to the bottom of the pit even in the lowest setting would be nice if had non stick pan or a second to boil water under it for a gentle heat
I ordered this primarily as a s'mores maker, and I have not been disappointed. I love that it is a pretty compact size, so it only takes up a small amount of room in my pantry. It heats up very quickly, and it will toast the marshmallows in record time. You actually need to be careful when the heating element is on a higher power setting, because if you touch the marshmallow to the plate, it can actually catch on fire. I personally found this very impressive. It is very easy to clean, with just a washcloth. The fondue pot is stainless steel, so it is very easy to scrub. I would say this set is perfect for either a small family, or a couple. The pot used for fondue isn't the largest, so it may be too small for a party settings. Overall, I am very happy with it. It is a perfect compact fondue/ s'mores maker.
According to the brochure, the heater supposedly goes up to nearly 900º Fahrenheit. WTH is with this temperature range? Most of their translations from centigrade check out, except the last. I quote:Level 1: 80º C/176º FLevel 2: 180º C/356º FLevel 3: 300º C/572º F -- Fondue Pot level, according to themLevel 4: 380º C/716º F -- Smoker level (never explained in the least)Level 5: 480º C/842º F -- (s/b 896º F according to my translator.)The only possible excuse for these crucible temperatures is that someone translated the centigrade to Fahrenheit for the American audience and gave the list to the person writing the English-language pamphlet. That person thought that was the centigrade for the rest of the Anglosphere, and further translated it up for Americans. If you take the supposed centigrade numbers, they kind of make sense as Fahrenheit for making fondue. In that case, it should actually be the much more reasonable top ends for each level.Level 1: 80º F/27º CLevel 2: 180º F/82º CLevel 3: 300º F/149º CLevel 4: 380º F/193º CLevel 5: 480º F/249º CIt goes quite hot enough for two dishes the recipes never consider: beef bourgignon and all the Asian hotpots, that we knew as "steamboat."The forks are shallow, with tines only half an inch/16 mm long. I wouldn't be too sure about keeping a piece of bread on one once it hits gooey cheese. I sure wouldn't trust them with a marshmallow over the heater once the inner crust starts melting. They should be twice this. I notice in the videos that people are not using them, but putting their food on bamboo skewers. If you need more forks or different forks for your size gang, check the thrift shops and garage sales (charity shops and boot sales, coz), or try the search box. From 1968, I have a paperback copy of 'It's Fun to Fondue' (by Thaler, from Centaur House) and I finally get to use it. You can look up other fondue books in the search box. You can always look recipes up on the internet, but lately I've been getting some that don't work so well, even on core sites (AI slop IMHO).You will not be helped to fondue by any recipes in the two pages of recipes, and their advice on how to cook with it (separte from recipes) is written by someone who never fondues. You do not make up a fondue then remove the pot from the heat. You don't dip foods then "serve" them. Back in the Seventies, we kept fondue over warming candles after making it up in a pot in the kitchen. I suggest that you just turn down the heat level on the unit. The few recipes are all about toasting marshmallows for desserts. They live for s'mores, a food I have never bothered to taste. Why mess up a perfectly good toasted marshmallow? Their one-only instruction for dipping cooked meat in cheese sauce is scrambled (it includes part of another recipe) and you are supposed to give diners only one piece of pre-cooked steak. So they either get one little cube, or dip their entire serving of meat all at once in the cheese sauce and gnaw off pieces, I guess, while holding it on those tiny forks. They do expect them to eat this one piece of steak with french fries (must also be pre-cooked) and apple chunks.No. You want pieces of different "eat cold" sausages, chunks of bell peppers and celery, mushroom caps, cherry tomatoes, and black olives. Stab, dip in Gruyere melted with white wine and seasoned, eat.Fondue was big in the Disco Age (my twenties) as an informal and communal meal or snack with friends. Everyone was dipping in the same pot. Everyone was close around it. Add enough Harvey Wallbangers or wine coolers and everyone could have a merrier time than sitting at a table with a chafing dish supper. Yet it was more novel than pizza, even sitting on the floor around the coffee table. You got to have mock fights over the last piece of pineapple or Alphonse-and-Gaston over trying to give it to your friend. It still is just as much fun. We've been enjoying both cheese and chocolate variations, without having to keep the candle under it from blowing out from a breeze from the screen door or from using it on the patio because it's roasting-hot summer. This is really a cool-weather thing if you do it inside. We would recommend this for refreshments on Game Night with your friends. Leave the dungeon terrain or map of Catan, pull the chairs up around a folding table, and take a break to talk and be your off-game selves.
I picked up this fondue pot for our 4th of July barbecue to serve melted chocolate alongside strawberries and pineapples it was also meant to celebrate a welcome baby party for my little one who is just 15 days old and still too fragile to be around many people The set is thoughtfully designed with temperature control which makes melting chocolate or cheese easy and smooth without burning The electric fondue pot heats evenly and the detachable trays add convenience when serving different treats The four forks are a nice touch so everyone can join in the fun making it perfect for small gatherings or family time outdoorsWhat really made this special for me was how it will help create a cozy backyard experience even though we have not used it as of yet we are hopping it keep things feeling causal and enjoyable I loved sitting outside with close company enjoying sweet dipped fruits and gooey chocolate It brings a warm and festive vibe to the party that feels personal and comforting This item looks simple to use and clean which means less stress for me and more time to enjoy the moment with loved ones This fondue set is definitely a wonderful addition for anyone who loves sweet and savory treats with family and friend gatherings.
