Very nice glasses. I use it for water. These glasses have increased my water consumption!
Some might wonder: what makes for a good glass? So I decided to compare my options:• Drink directly from the bottle (discreetly hidden in a paper bag)• A plastic cup• Schott Zwiesel Double Old Fashioned GlassNow, the bottle is the most economical choice. It proves that any drinking glass is technically optional. The plastic cup? Surprisingly functional—especially when entertaining guests—and better for mixed drinks than pouring things directly into your face. There are, of course, other clear glass options. But here’s the thing: are you getting drunk alone in an alley, or are you relaxing with a fine whiskey? The distinction distills down to perspective, setting, equipment—and attitude. So what does this Schott Zwiesel do that a cheap tumbler from the warehouse club doesn’t?Well, placebo is the gold standard in medicine—because it works even when you know it’s a placebo. And so it is with aesthetics. It makes you feel like you’re holding something special. It’s clearly well made—pun unintended but, hey, let’s run with it. It feels solid. Transparent. Thoughtful. Purposeful. Imbued with quality. And what does that do for your drink?By extension, it makes your drink feel special.Which, by extension, makes you feel special. Was a time when the ultimate drinking vessel was your enemy’s skull. Yet that’s generally frowned upon these days—and I found out the hard way those are not dishwasher safe. But these are. As their makers put it, in their lyrical language: Spülmaschinenfest. And even I can’t make enemies as quickly and efficiently as Schott Zwiesel makes glasses. It’s part of what makes us human—we’re bonkers about aesthetics. This has been true since the Paleolithic. The spear tip had to be crafted from the right obsidian, gathered from distant cliffs at great peril, and napped just so into a leaf-blade of perfect symmetry—a shard of black precision that still stirs something in the soul of modern man when gazed upon with reverence.Use an inferior rock? Well, the other cavemen would mock you and steal your women.Little has changed.Would James Bond drink his shaken martini out of a Solo cup? It’s an object of ritual—a symbol of taste, discernment, and, yes, status.Because we’re not savages, after all.
The Schott Zwiesel Era Crystal Glass highball set is outstanding in every way. The 23 oz. size is just perfect—it holds plenty of liquid and leaves room for ice without feeling cramped. Whether it’s for cocktails, sparkling water, or soft drinks, this size is incredibly versatile. The quality of the glass is exceptional. It feels durable and sturdy in hand, and it resists scratching far better than other glassware I’ve used. These glasses are also stunning—clear, elegant, and minimalist in design, they elevate any drink you serve.I wholeheartedly recommend both this brand and this particular set. They're beautiful, functional, and built to last. What more could you ask for in a glass?
These are really nice glasses, everything about them looks and feels high end.
Beautiful glasses. The workmanship is amazing. I'm impressed with the quality. I know they say dishwasher safe but I prefer to wash them by hand.
good quality glass. Sings when you rub a wet finger around the rim like fine crystal should.very beautiful.cleans and shines up well.I use them all the time now.Good value for the price.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I recently broke a few glasses while transporting them to the backyard from the kitchen and decided to get a new set that is a bit more robust and actually looks nice. A few observations:The glasses are beautiful and have a good weight that you expect from a crystal glassThe set I ordered was the 23 ounce highball and while they hold a lot of liquid, they are easy to hold and carry and seem to get cold just regular glassThe top of the glasses seem very thin and while they have survived a few washings in the dishwasher, I’m a bit concerned for the long term care. While the glasses are marketed as being made out of Tritan Crystal (a supposedly very durable crystal), I found mixed reviews on if the Tritan crystal really was a material type or just a marketing name. For the time being, the glasses seem to hold up well and look beautiful.
