These glasses are beautiful, fairly sturdy and a great size. They hold up well in the dishwasher. I accidentally clanged a couple together and thought they would break but they held up. They feel good in your hand (nice size & light), work for several varietals and look classic. Would make a nice gift for someone. Just a good, solid, go to wine glass to have on hand.
*** UPDATE 11/24/19. I’ve had these glasses since February, and I love them just as much as I did when I left the initial review. Not a single one has broken or chipped with regular use, including the dishwasher. Cannot recommend highly enough!!I have been a faithful Riedel user for more than a decade, but I grew tired of having to frequently replace them after breakage occurred. They are beautiful, but they just lack the durability to be a practical every day glass. I like to put my glasses in the dishwasher, and they would frequently crack if something else knocked into one. Also, they always came out cloudy after the dishwasher cycle. I read reviews on these glasses, which I had never heard of before. Several restauranteurs extolled the virtues of these glasses, calling them the perfect balance of form (they are still thin and elegant) and function (titanium in the crystal makes them noticeably more durable). Well folks, they were correct. I am so impressed with these glasses! The lip is very slightly thicker than a Riedel or Spiegleau, and I was pleased to find it as thin as it is. The glass overall is heavier than a Riedel - you can tell from holding it that it is sturdier. It feels wonderful in your hand and at your lip, and as a side perk, for whatever reason these come out from the dishwasher perfectly crystal clear - no cloudiness. This glass in particular is the perfect one if you just want one set - the size is appropriate for both reds and whites. The size of the glass was very important to me when I ordered, so I included a couple of photos in case anyone else wants to get an idea of the scale. I have petite hands, FYI. Overall, I can’t recommend this glass highly enough. I am a Schott Zweisel fan for life!

These glasses are perfect for either a red or white. They hold an ideal volume, and are the true, beautiful Schott Zweisel look that I love. I have owned numerous Schott Zweisel glasses in the past that cost me well over $15 each. Note that as most SZ glasses, they are very delicare and thin. When they say “shatterproof”, it doesn’t mean BREAK proof. Shatterproof means they will not splinter into millions of pieces. It means that the glass will break in manageable chunks rather than splinter all over your home. And if a glass is labeled shatterproof and you expect it not to break at all, isn’t glass at all… that’s plastic. These do not bounce when you drop them on tile, I can’t imagine that somebody would even post that comment. That was certainly divine intervention and pure luck. :) But for $56 for 8 glasses… If you want so much better than the heavy, thick glassware that you normally get for a few dollars per glass....BUY THESE!! They are elegant and when cared for properly, will make you an incredibly happy wine glass owner. CHEERS!
I purchased 2 sets of 6 of the Wine/Water glasses and 1 set of the Burgundy glasses. Within a week of purchasing and using these, one of the Wine/Water glasses broke while my husband was carefully hand washing it. So far, (after about 6 weeks) that is the only casualty, but I do not plan on putting these in the dishwasher since it couldn't handle gentle hand washing. I did use 6 of these for a wine tasting party, and after a few bottles, we all got a little clumsy. One girl accidentally turned around and bumped the wine glass into the stainless steel refrigerator door handle. While it made a loud 'clink', the glass is perfectly fine. Another girl actually dropped the glass (thankfully it was empty) and that one also if fine (though it dropped on carpet, it was still a pretty hard floor). When we were washing these the next day, one of the glasses fell into the sink (hard plastic) and is still in great condition, too!So, even though they haven't been exposed to extreme hardships, I am happy with how they are holding up and how beautiful they are! They are a little taller than your average wine glass, but I like them that way. They feel great to hold and also feel very delicate. I feel classy just drinking out of one alone and in my PJs :) The Burgundy glasses have a large bowl and are GREAT for your full-bodied varietals. Those are probably my favorite, but I like the fact that the 'Red Wine/Water' glasses are versatile. I removed a star because of the first one breaking so soon, so now I am not taking advantage of the fact that they are supposedly dishwasher safe or break resistant. I am still very careful with them and worried about more breaking.
This is our third set of SZ stemless glasses. Excellent size and quality.
This is my third batch of “buy 6 get 8 glasses” over the last 10 years. I love the weight, look and feel of these. They are not indestructible but more durable than other brands I’ve tried. I originally purchased them at Pier 1, but that’s not an option any longer. So glad to find them again on Amazon at a great price for Prime Day.
