While Researching knives I always come across ones that I wished I would’ve grabbed earlier before they spiked in price. The only problem I’ll have with this knife is I should’ve grabbed more than just one.Everything from the packaging to the feel, and the fit and finish of this knife feels, looks, and performs like it should be 4-5x’s this priceI was hesitant because there were no not 25 or so reviews but still hopeful it would be a good purchaseI was blown away with everythingKnife comes with tip guards wrapped in plastic and placed in a nice box with anti moisture packets, a wipe cloth, a pair of chopsticks, and a small finger guard, then the box in placed in its own sleek bubble package with more anti moisture packetsVery sleek, very professionalThen the knife…..extremely sharp !Superior fit and finish, smooth yet durable and non slip handle is made from G10, and the blade has both the hammered finish and the visible lines from the Damascus finish, for the price I question if it’s true Damascus or just a finish, but I don’t careI held a true Damascus knife that was $400 and that felt cheaper than this knifeI’ll be buying a 2ndBUY IT !

Thought I was settling when the big name 8” western chef with the name rhyming with moon that I intended to buy was out of stock, but I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. I’m still so happy with the knife that I volunteer to take care of the knife work when my wife is cooking.Very sharp out of the box, and minimal honing has maintained the edge. Extremely sharp!… For the money I paid this is a great deal!… Just be extremely careful I can literally hold up a piece of paper and slice right through it with the knife… Wow!… Not an extremely durable blade… It’s mainly for delicate work… It’s pretty thin… For what I do it’s excellent… Mainly cutting up vegetables slices through them like butter… And for the price you can’t beat it

A very good quality chefs knife in Damascus steel

This is a nicely finished Damascus steel chefs knife with good quality construction.It features a full tang blade that ends in a 3/16" thick full butt. The tang is 1/8" thick along the full length of the handle.The handle is comfortably shaped and the G10 scales are perfectly flush with the knife handle- I'm unable to feel the seams where they meet the tang and I can just barely feel the slight bumps of the three handle rivets. The center rivet is a mosaic pin with 8 dimples, which are not quite deep enough to catch solids, but may likely catch raw juices and thus should be washed thoroughly. The scales are smooth yet ever so slightly textured from the G10 fiberglass fabric, which allows for a secure grip even when wet.The VG10 Damascus steel with hammered wave-like dimples from the spine to about the center of the blade's width gives the knife a beautiful appearance.In use, it is amazingly sharp right out of the box, effortlessly slicing paper on edge, raw chicken, and tomatoes. It has a good weight to it and balances nicely right at the bolster, which is smooth and perfectly shaped for a pinch hold.The knife also comes with a pair of cord-wrapped wooden chopsticks, a stainless steel finger-guard, and a small nylon cloth, nice but they don't really add much value for me personally... I'm perfectly happy with just the knife itself at this pricepoint.Just a point of clarification- while the product description refers to it as a Japanese chef/kitchen/steel knife, the box is marked Made In China. Technically, it's the VG10 steel that is Japanese. Regardless, it is still a beautiful, nicely finished knife, made with quality materials.
