High carbon steel carving knife with nice wooden handle

This 12 inch carving knife is beautifully etched with a high gloss finish and the wooden handle that joins nicely to the blade. Even though this knife is not Damascus steel and is made of a forged high carbon steel it does look high end and polished with a mirror finish. The knife comes in a nice giftable box so it can be given as a gift or used to store the knife. I don't have a magnetic knife bar nor a knife block that has space for this carving knife so I will store the knife in the original box that was provided.The blade on this knife is honed very well, but the knife is front end heavy so I'm assuming it is not a full-tang knife. The wooden handle is not riveted to the blade so you probably need to be careful about leaving the handle in water as an expansion in the wood from excessive moisture may cause problems. I'm not a chef or a restaurant owner and will only occasionally use the knife for cutting a prime rib or roast beef and the high carbon steel I'm expecting will hold up well for many years if cared for properly. For most backyard chefs and pit masters, this blade is nice size for carving to compliment most knife sets and the polished finish and razor sharp edge will help to compliment the meal prep.

I was looking for a knife that would be long enough to reach across an entire brisket, and I found this knife.The knife has a smooth wood handle that's comfortable to hold with a wide bolster where the blade meets the handle to protect my hand.The grooved blade helps keep foods from sticking while being sliced. This reduces drag when cutting cold cuts, roasts, etc. It slices through anything I've put it to cleanly and efficiently, and the best part is that it allows me to make paper thin slices of foods such as prosciutto and Serrano ham. It's also great for thinly slicing salmon or lox.Although the knife does not have a true Damascus steel blade, it's made from high-carbon steel which helps it to keep a razor sharp edge, reducing the need for sharpening. It has an attractive laser etched Damascus pattern engraved on the blade.I'm happy to have this super sharp knife in my kitchen and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to slice their own cold cuts, carve roasts or brisket or slice many other foods that benefit from being cut into thin, even slices.
