Overpriced cake platters made of douglas fir
If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer).* These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly.Why I ordered this item: My wife loves to bake so I surprised her with these.Likes:* This is kind of a tough product to review. On the one hand, these are functional cake platters and can be used to display and serve desserts. They do work, and once assembled they do stay together.* The finish looks nice enough and would be fine at a lower price point.No likes:* The wood looks and smells like low-grade doug fir. This would not be a No Like necessarily, but...* These are WAY too expensive to use low-grade fir. At this price I would expect at least acacia or some other cheap hardwood.* These are very light weight, which is probably not the best when asking them to hold heavy desserts.* The platters themselves are segmented. This means they were made from off cuts, which is why they are so light and why the wood is so cheap. This is wood that was discarded from other products and repurposes to reduce weight.Would I pay full price for this product: NoFinal thoughts: Charging $42 for these (at the time I ordered them) is rough. I would be happy spending at most $18-20 for this set, and even then I probably would want something nicer. They do work and if you are not a wood snob like me they might be perfect for you. For the asking price, I think they should be something much more durable and beautiful.

Very cute
I was more than pleasantly surprised at this display rack. The wood was good quality and the sunflowers were a very nice addition to the cupcake display I wanted this for. It was for a women's luncheon and set off the whole scene quite nicely. It was not all that hard to assemble, with more than one option. We chose the ladder design. And it was not too bulky so easy to move to where you want it. It held plenty of desserts and everyone was impressed at the display. Well worth it for someone who does a fair of amount of entertaining.

Cute Design, But Assembly Left Me Wanting More
Okay, confession time: I didn’t buy this adorable stand for cupcakes. Nope—this little tiered cutie is now proudly holding my prized collection of Mico figures. (They look fabulous, by the way.) The aesthetic was what sold me—bright, whimsical, and eye-catching, perfect for displaying collectibles in a way that makes people smile.Now, onto the real tea… Assembly. The instructions are simple at first glance, but once you dive in, you quickly realize they’re missing some pretty important details. You get both long and short screws, but nowhere does it say which ones go where. You’re left playing a guessing game while hoping you don’t strip the wood or split a panel. Spoiler alert: the predrilled holes are not deep enough for easy assembly.Even using the long screws, I had to be incredibly gentle not to damage anything, and ultimately I resorted to good ol’ wood glue to keep it from wobbling like a jelly dessert. So yes, it’s cute. It works—but only after some DIY reinforcement. I really wanted to give this 4 stars for charm alone, but the frustrating setup knocked it down a notch. Final verdict: a solid 3 stars.
