This is not authentic Silesia pottery, but it’s a pretty good representation of the style. The glazing appears to be hand painted… so if it is printed, it’s printed very well!The ceramic feels strong and durable. The colors match the listing photos well. The size is huge. I’ve been using it for soup on the nights when my husband is out, and I want a light meal in front of the TV. The handle is a comfortable to hold while I eat, it supports the weight of a full bowl.Whiles it’s very nice and a fun piece to use from time to time… the price seems a little high for what it is. Especially considering it wasn’t crafted in the Germanic region by authentic craftsman with a lineage of working in that style. But in the end, I couldn’t reasonably remove a star for that.“Real” Silesia gets its name from the German region of Silesia (now making up mostly of Poland), originating in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The bold red flower is a common motif in the more colorful styles.I’ve always liked how it blends well with similar-looking handmade pottery from the Spanish region of Andalusia.The listing doesn’t not mention a spoon… so I didn’t expect one… and it didn’t come with one… BUT the foam insert has a cutout in the shape of a spoon, which made me think it might be missing. I only point this out… because it’s the first thing you see when you lift the lid. And if I purchase another to give as a gift, I’d feel a little funny about that void… like I’d either need to offer an explanation, or go out and purchase a cute little wooden spoon to place in there.

Beautiful bowl, large, and sturdy!
This bowl is LARGE and beautiful. The colors really pop! The handle is at a good angle to allow you to hold the bowl cradled through the handle, which makes it easy to carry. It holds 30 oz, so you can easily add in a normal bowl worth of soup (1 to 1.5 cups) and still have lots of room left over so you don't slop around.For the price, I am really impressed with the quality of this bowl. The ceramic is really solid, and not at all delicate. It sits equally well in my hand or my wife's. It doesn't break easily, either, as we've already dropped it once and it didn't break.I would absolutely purchase from this company again.

I’ve almost got the whole set!!!
This is the second piece from this line, and I’m sure glad I ordered a couple other pieces ~ I’m in love with this charming little set. I got this bowl because it match a cup I ordered a few months ago. From the pictures and styrofoam packaging I thought there would be a spoon that went with it. I did not receive the spoon though.
