A must have
I have used silicone baking mats for years instead of using single use disposable parchment paper every time I bake. I do use parchment for some things (like lining the pan when I make rice cereal treats so I can use it to pull the whole pan out to cut), but I mostly use the silicone liners. I love that I can cut this silicone roll to the specific size or shape that I need. I especially love that the silicone grips the pan so it stays in place even when the convection oven or air fryer fans are going on high.A heads up though - if you are the type of person who gets annoyed with stains, you will want to buy a darker color & not the plain white that I bought. I don't care about staining & picked white because I was thinking about hanging some on the light colored wall behind the air fryer & under the cabinet (I bought a Heat Shield roll for the cabinet/wall instead). I didn't have any staining until I air fried onion rings & the drippings caramelized - the drippings wiped off of the surface easily, but there's a faint tan stain in a few places. I have used the light color mats dozens of times over the past few weeks at 400°F & I haven't noticed any darkening from the heat either, but I don't have the lined pans on the lowest/highest level either. I haven't had any staining on the tan silicone mats that I have used in my big oven for over a decade, so you are probably safe with a tan color or darker. Update: I had the air fryer oven on Bake @ 425°F & the mats in the crumb tray started to melt & produced lots of white smoke. The mat on the pan started to darken too. Thankfully I caught it before actual fire started - the pan & crumb tray do have some brown stains now. It was raining & cold, so I threw them on the cement outside & it took an hour or so to air out the house (& oven). 400°F hasn't been an issue over several months, but 425°F apparently is an issue. Lesson learned! I still recommend them. The Rolled Silicone Baking Mat is food grade, nonstick, has a non slip quality that grips the pan, it's heat resistant, can be used to line the crumb tray or to line your pans with & directly bake food on it, etc. The roll is great because you can cut it to size & whatever shape you need for your existing pans. When I originally bought my big silicone baking mats, I bought the mats first & had to buy pans to fit them as mine weren't the right size, this roll would've worked for all of the sizes/shapes of pans I already had. I've used my sewing/craft cutting mat with measurement grid, my clear ruler & a box cutter, X-ACTO knife & kitchen shears to cut mine to the needed size, but sharp normal scissors should work well too. I just measured the pans & gave room to go up the sides of the pans - I didn't trim the corners down, so they do stick up or I can fold them under if needed. Because the mat has grip, it does stay down in the pan on it's own once it's pushed into place. I dry them by rolling them up in a dish towel to get most of the water off & then dry in my dish strainer. It will stick to other dishes, so I usually just stick it to the top of the basket or pan I used in the air fryer oven after towel drying both. I probably don't have to towel dry the air fryer accessories, but I have hard water so I towel dry certain things right away & let them air dry completely before putting them away. I store my silicone mats in the baking sheets/air fryer pans & I have cut multiple mats for each size air fryer oven pan. You can also roll silicone mats to store them. I don't fold my silicone mats because the creases can be difficult to get out (I have received large silicone under sink mats & the mats under my air fryer oven came folded & the creases don't totally go away).I definitely recommend getting silicone baking mats & this roll is the most versatile option because you can customize it to your specific needs. Just keep the color in mind when you buy a roll.
